Thank you. I got carried away and did about 4/5 tests!!

Of course! The novelty of it being positive, gotta milk that one ;o)
And u could get lucky with the symptoms altho I had none for d first 2-3 wks either but I'm not a fan of the 12 week wait :-/
The very best of luck with it hope it all goes well for u !

I'm the same sometimes I am just too tired for sex, it's so so hard, my partner always wants it he has a higher sex drive than me, but what can you do !! Just life I suppose, currently have my period can't wait til its over to start a fresh month and try again, starting tsi with injections with next period so need to have positive thoughts for that. The thought of injecting myself is kinda freaking me out! Lots of days off work for those scans too, the clinic is 2 hours away from me, anyone know how long the scan normally takes? Maybe half days at work would be enough

Do any of you know how much each injection costs in the pharmacy? Starting injections for TSI next month!
Feeling positive today, getting in the mind frame for starting these, just heard a colleague got pregnant on them and she is in her forties so that is positive

Depends on what you are prescribed really. Mine was, per cycle:
    €7 for Clomid
    €18 for Pregnyl trigger shot
    €300 for TSI scanning/monitoring cycle.

Ovitrelle is another type of trigger shot, that one costs about €150 but get registered with your pharmacist for the Drugs Scheme and it will be capped at I *think* €130 (check on citizens advice website for that)

I got pregnant on the third TSI cycle, on my 29th TTC cycle. :)

Mine is per cycle too. Ok not too sure what trigger shot I have been prescribed will have to check on that. Going to leave it in with the pharmacist on Saturday not due period for another 3 weeks. It's great to hear the success stories, have been told I have a low egg reserve so spend yesterday and Monday feeling very sorry for myself, feeling a bit better today but looking forward to 1 month trying again naturally and injections from there!
Do the injections have many side effects? Will I be hell to live with while on them?

I don't really recall any. The needle site was tender for a while but mood wise I think I was my usual self. Though the hormones do affect different women differently.

    Best of luck!

    Hi Lucuma,
We found out when we got a seman test done and just ask to be tested for seman antibodies also. They are the reason we cant conceive but we are now attending a fertility clinic and they are redoing the test. We have been on vitamins etc so hopefully the results will be better but the hospital said they are not too concerned about them as it only takes one sperm to fertilise the egg. Your results were not bad either so hopefully you will be lucky soon. I have tried so many books etc so I am reluctant to buy another book..!!

Hi Zoviea, just wondering how your husband found out that he has semen antibodies? My hubby has just had his sperm checked and the results came back bad :-( He said that giving the sample is quite tricky though and due to this the first part of his sample was lost. His sperm count which should be 20 or higher, came back as only 3 which seems hard to believe as he has a kid from a previous relationship. His motility it said on the results sheet should be greater than 50, but in my book The Fertility Code it says it only needs to be greater than 40, his was 41. And then morphology is meant to be 4 or higher, his was 3. Overall we're both really shocked and upset by the results, he's taking a daily vitamin tablet now especially for male fertility - maybe it's quite similar to Fertilaid is that a vitamin? He's getting retested again in 6 weeks time. I am curious about the semen antibodies as I think these can be a reason for low sperm count? You should buy the book the Fertility Code, he has a big section about semen antibodies and their causes, and ways to get rid of them.
Hi, If you are getting a semen test ask to be testd for semen antibodies also and you will know then if you are affected by them. Don't know where they come from and cant get rid of them AHHH. But we are going to a fertility clinic now and have been takn vitamins with a lifestyle change so due to do another seman test soon and hopn results will be better!!

Say if you had a two-month-old baby, and your periods hadn't come back yet.

If you got a positive pregnancy test - is that a true positive, or is it leftover hormones or something from the previous pregnancy?

And are there problems associated with getting pregnant again so soon?

It's great if we are pregnant again, I would be amazed though, as it took a long time to conceive first time around!

Hello to all TTCer boardsies! We're back trying after a few months of a break. It's just over a week since my period ended and I've been crippled with what I'm guessing are ovulation pains for a couple of days now - haven't had it this bad in ages! Even had a little spotting (sorry if TMI). Feeling very out of sorts but the deed must still be done tonight :D

Oh how exciting! I'm no expert but I thought that it was only early prennancy hormones that show up on those tests, if so it sounds very positive! Perhaps a doctor can confirm it for you :)

Question for the ladies here, how do you calm yourself down every month? This month I had ovulation pains for days, then it subsided for 2 days, then horrific cramps again for an evening! Of course now I can't get it out of my head that it was implantation  when of course it could've been anything. I'm pimping like crazy because I've had backache too but rationally I know it's way too early for symptoms. Need to take my mind off it all!

    Hi all
I have been reading through the last few months of this thread and it gives me hope. I am 40 since Jan, hubbie is 35. We have only been trying for 3 months but like everyone else we hoped we would get lucky...now I am getting worried. I know its been such a short length of time but at my age I havnt time on myside.
I bought the CB smily face ovulation monitors and used them for 10 days (as soon as I got up each morning) and it was all 0..not a sign of a smiley face, could it be too late for me ?

I have noticed my periods are lighter and last for less days in the last year or so, but I am still getting them regularly (28 day cycle).

We have decided we cant afford IVF so that isnt an option for us...but is there anything we could do to help us along without heading down the IVF route ??
    Thanks

Just realised I posted this in the wrong theread the other day...

I am so annoyed at myself today - I had to have a blood test in the GPs yesterday for my B12 (overdue by a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time), but went to a different GP rather than my own as he's better at taking blood and I have terrible veins. I had prepped myself to mention that we've been TTC for over 15 months but I chickened out :( He was very matter of fact about doing the blood test, never asked how I was feeling or anything and I just chickened out.

I know they've seen it all before, I'm a healthcare professional myself for god's sake but I just couldn't find the words. I think it's because I know deep down that my weight is the issue, ugh full of self-loathing on so many levels today

Ah I dunno chick. I know what you're saying, BUT, since going on clomid, I have ballooned. I'm a right heffalump and I'm a good 10lbs heavier for the week before I ovulate. My wardrobe houses size 12-16 and I'll need all sizes over the course of the month. I know weight is an issue with TTC but I'm on a pill to help strengthen ovulation that makes me fat. Catch fecking 22!

One more month and I'm off for more surgery. In the 5 months I'm on clomid, I don't think I've ovulated out of my working ovary at all. Typical.

    /gets more cats.

I'm 39 and reckon I've a couple of TTC years left in me yet! There are other things that might help long before IVF becomes a possibility - we started on TSI with Clomid and trigger shots and I got pregnant. There is also IUI if that didnt work. Both of those are about €300 and €600 respectively, excluding the initial consultation with specialist.

Thanks Lucy - I read this the other day but couldn't bring myself to reply at the time, have been mulling over it (and everything else) for the last few days and you really helped me just get all my thoughts in perspective.

I got my blood test results - B12 normal (actually disappointed, was hoping it was low and that was why I couldn't study for exams, guess it's just plain old procrastination :o ) but my white cells are up. Told me to come back in 2 months time for another blood test to see if it's an ongoing issue or just an anomaly so I'm looking at the 2 months as a time of opportunity. I have 8 weeks to lose some weight so I can bite the bullet, say to the Dr look I know I need to lose weight but I am, I'm down a stone or whatever so please take me seriously...

That's crazy about the clomid - our bodies are truly mysterious things aren't they... Good luck on your last month on clomid, fingers crossed

Acupuncture definitely helps . just maybe take a look at your food intake and see where u can make improvements . go for a walk every day . It's little changes that make the big difference . If your feelin low in yourself it's no help when your ttc and not succeeding ,take it from someone who knows only too well!

I think that's a really positive way of looking at it.

I hate clomid. Absolutely hate it. If it wasn't for the gym, I'd say I'd be doing time lol. Proper mental stuff. Can't wait to be done with it

Lucyfur would you think about stopping the clomid and asking to go on fsh injections instead? I did 5 months of clomid and honestly didn't have a single side effect. But like everything it suits some and not others. They were monitoring my lining and planned to move me to the injections next if it started looking thin, so they seem to be the next step and have less side effects. There's no point in suffering.

Hi angeldelight. I'm flying, 20 was gone now and apart from tiredness its the only thing I've suffered from. Hope these 2 are aswell behaved when I meet them!! Think someone has decided to give me a break after all the heartbreakdown of the 3 yrs previous ttc.
I still check in on this post as it was a great help & support to me so if I do the same then I'm happy :-)

OMFG! 11 days past ovulation and just did a test, think I see the faintest, most barely-there line! Going to test again when period's due to make sure I'm not seeing things!!

Aye. I've only one month left after this so I'll stick with the course. I've surgery in June then to see if my working tube is still ok and to make sure no scar tissue has attached where it shouldn't have.
