I'm looking up directions to the Eye & Ear in Dublin because he's probably going to be sent there.. Panicking a bit I have to say.

She had to go back again a couple of weeks ago because a few other shards were lodged in her eye but no permanent damage. Hopefully your Dad will be fine, are there no Eye specialists closer to you than Dublin?
I did something similar a few years ago. Headed over to Roscommon A&E where they tried to flush it out. Had to go back the next day to the opthalmologist who clamped my head in a frame and poked it out with a hypodermic needle!

I've seen it done for shards of steel that got in the eye of a builder.

Not the nicest thing to watch tbh....

Aye I used to see it quite regulary in the opticians I worked in. Surprisingly painless to do (compared to what you'd think) but can be a bit wince inducing. On that, I had a slight accident in work and now Spoiler: I'm missing entire nails off two fingers :o. It's a bit tedious trying to do stuff with them all bandaged up
