Any alternatives to Steam for purchasing/downloading?

    Hey all,

Not the savviest PC gamer in the world (I have one game, GTA IV) but this morning for some reason I had, for no real reason, great memories of playing Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 on the (original) XBox for days on end, and now I want to play it again.

I've decided I may aswell pick up the newest game in the series (Rollercoaster Tycoon 3) but I don't really care for the Steam price tag of €30. Particularly when Amazon have it for £6.50 (and that's the box/disc etc.).

Obviously Amazon is clearly much better value, but I'd like to be able to download the game now, rather than wait for it to be posted (as I'm sure I'll have lost interest by the time it arrives).

I seen gog.com mentioned in a google search and they have it for $20, but I've never heard of them before so just thought I'd throw a thread up on here for the sake of it and see if there's anywhere that's cheap and cheerful with an option of downloading instantly?

    Cheers :)

Origin is the next big competitor, but it has ways to go still.

Steam & GOG are the only services worth considering IMHO.

I have bought games from all these sites and all allowed me to digitally download.
http://www.nuuvem.com.br/ - Brazilian site, so might be hard to get around it, but conversion rate makes the games very cheap :pac:

You could always wait and see if Steam have one of those daft sales of theirs?

Can use one of the steam key resellers either.

Ive had good experiences with them in the past, but not too sure if their use is frowned upon here, so wont mentioned any names

You can use http://www.dlcompare.com/ to compare the prices of games on loads of different sites. Quite handy at times.

Cheers for the help guys. Will give Gog a punt. I'll probably be sick of the game in 15 minutes :(

The other cool thing about GoG.com is that the price is US$20, no matter where in the world you're from.
