Acer 3d display problem

Hi folks, any suggestions/solutions to this one ?

I bought an Acer HD ready 3d enabled projector from Argos about 18 months ago. It works fine, but I decided afterwards to give the 3d a go which has me stumped.

I discovered that to play a 3d blu ray, you needed a hdmi 1.4 connection, however the Acer projector only has hdmi 1.3. So, I went online and bought a Viewsonic 3d adapter for €200 which converts a hdmi 1.4 signal to hdmi 1.3, so projectors like mine will then display the 3d signal.

The projector will now display the 3d signal, but won't 'recognise' the signal to sync with the DLP glasses. The 3d option on the projector remains 'greyed out' and unavailable.

Any ideas, or should I put the lot up for sale ?

I could get a more modern projector with hdmi 1.4 support, but want to see if this can be rescued first.

    Thanks.
