Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Im doing my leaving this year and am considering doing the international business course in ul (im from cork). Was just wondering if any students doing the course could give me any information on whether its worthwhile, is there many doing it?, is the coop good? Dont want to do a dossy course! Probably want a career in management/tourism/law/accounting so is this course a good route? Would really appreciate any advice!

    I'm a German and business first year but I know someone who's doing international business and they can pick a load of electives like a language,law or sociology :P

    Thanks for the replt, just wondering what is the difference between it and just business? Is it more specialised or something? About how many do it? :)

    From what I've seen and heard, it has mostly the same modules as normal business but they have way more electives. And from what I remember, there are only 16 in it this year.

    Thanks for the reply. I wouldnt be doing it with a language but what id like about it is the politics and law aspect, and how i can specialise more in the aspects id like. Im just wondering like why is there so little doing it, or are they restricting numbers?

    I think they cut the places at 45. And my bad, there are actually 45 doing it this year. No idea where I got 16 from.

    It also has the course leader's contact details so you should give them a shout and they'll be better able to help you. Or you could come to the open day on Thursday or Friday this week, if you can.

    Thanks a million for the help! May i ask what course are you doing yourself? Mainly i suppose i just wanna know is the international business more beneficial than just straight business if i want to get into tourism?
    Im gutted i cant go to the opening days, my irish teacher has organised a trip to the gaeltacht for those two days, typical! I hope to be able to go to the one in january tho :)

    Oh I'm in computing but I know people doing international business :) If you can't make this lot of open days, emailing the course leader would be your best option.
