Thanks for this info -

A question: I've been curious re: burlesque & would be tempted to go to this event, but what could I expect as a first-timer? Would it be completely over the top or just a great night out w/ hubby or a couple of female friends? What does one wear to such an event?

Hi Ayla!
Miss Jet here!
I know the first time that I was going to a Burlesque night I hadn't really been sure what to expect, and what I did experience on the night was as far as what I thought was possible to expect! And all in a good way
Its pretty normal to be a little apprehensive about attending a burlesque night but it always sets for a great night out, including the opportunity to dress up if you are in the audience. (think corsets, stockings, long gloves, sparkle, feathers and lots of opulence with a dash of sauciness)
There can be a few shocks in Burlesque, and ''over the top-ness'' (I know I have been left completely speechless more than once!) but I think the first time to experience it can do that to you, now the shocking aspects inspire me more than anything else! As Burlesque ages, the different styles that are introduced can be awe inspiring, jaw dropping, beautiful, comedic, poetic and just plain daft (good daft!!)
The Countess Cabaret has an amazing mix coming up, Music, Comedy, Gorelesque, Neo- Classical Burlesque, Art and more, so you can expect a great variation, a great mix that can ensure you that you will enjoy yourself!
As a performer myself I can tell you its a great night out for couples and girly nights out also. Most of the shows I have performed at,I have noticed the audience always had lots of girly nights out, so either grab your man, get the old school glam and sparkles on and enjoy the show or get out the girlies, relax with a wee vino and enjoy the show!
If you would like any other info or what nots on outfits of anything, feel free to drop me a private message, and sorry for the super long message!!
Miss Jet x x x

This should be a great show.
The Countess Cabaret has put on several brilliant gigs already, with the most recent one in Athlone being a real success.
Everybody who went seemed to have a complete ball and there were lots of first timers there too.
I will be there for sure, but am still at a loss as to what I shall wear this time.
I'm thinking steampunk pimp undertaker at the moment, but shur we'll just have to wait and see what happens

Show went really well on Saturday.
The performers were all fabulous, well I think that's an appropriate way of describing them

Lucy Rhineheart was my personal favourite, but all of them were great. Fair play to all involved.

The venue was great too, suitably dingy, with some great art on display around the place too.
And there was plenty of effort put in by the attendees as well.

Next up is another show in Athlone in July I think.

Roll on!

Oops, my bad - I just realized I posted my earlier comment about the Crash Caberet show scheduled for last night (not Countess Caberet). Sorry

That said, the show last night was brilliant! Loads of fun & will definitely be repeated again ASAP
