Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

A Japanese citizen on g+ is running a full steam ahead campaign for donations on google+ to assist most affected groups directly. Yes, the country seems to have been impacted severely enough at the time going by this gentleman's blog.. PM me for this guy's contact name - he is also on facebook. I am no longer on google+ myself, this was my only single foray into the world of social networking - I don't consider it a badge of honour/shame mind you.
