Adrien Brody in THE PIANIST (Focus Features)

    Is he Irish???????

Why do RTE/TV3/Irish news in general continue to say Daniel Day Lewis is Irish. Is it because they get annoyed when the Brits say that Irish Stars are British.

it's true. two towers was a good film but nothing spectacular. Performances were all average. direction......nothing special.
the only thing it should get an oscar for is special effects for gollum.

That remark could get you killed in some countries. The Two Towers is the greatest film ever made and shoud win every single oscar there is.

Scorcese should win something this year if there is any justice.

And if that U2 song wins (just heard it on The Last Broadcast) I'll cut my ears off in protest...I'll even go to Hollywood to do it.

Where was Donnie Andrea Miniature Trainer by the way?

Yeah he assumed Irish Citizenship around 1993.

Regard the Oscars I just pray Scorcese doesn't win. I'd hate to think of the man picking up the statuette for GoNY when so many of his other films haven't been recognised over the past 30years.

The oscars is a farce and (admittedly selfishly) I would love Scorcese never to win one for best director just to prove it (or at least not for something like GoNY).

I mean for example you kind of lose faith in the Oscars when Al Pacino wins for SCENT OF A WOMAN

The Oscars is a farce. It is bureaucratic bull****. the same thing happens every year. Some film about someone with special needs will win.

i hate the oscars. how lord of the rings didnt win everything last year ill never know, i mean a beutiful mind won best adapted screenplay over it ffs. could u imagine how hard it was to adapt an "unfilmable" book with so many vivid locations and races and languages. if frodo was in a wheelchair it would have won

true, but you have to give it credit for location and its sets, not the computer generated ones but the real ones, it took a lot of time and effort to find those places and it took a lot work to set up the sets there too.

    my $2

Forgot to mention. Donnie Andrea Miniature Trainer cant be nominated for any oscars due to the fact that it was released in America in 2001.
