Your fast B3, is that a decent route then? what journey time are we looking at approx at 7am and 530pm?

At 7am, it should be fairly quick, perhaps 40 minutes (M50 would be less). I'd imagine your greatest problem will be getting onto the M50, but at that hour it wouldn't be too bad. An option would be the Rathbeale road to Ashbourne, Ratoath, Dunboyne, Leixlip, etc. but that is a slow route.

At 530, it would maybe an hour. Getting through Malahide though will be the issue, so maybe come into malahide via the estuary.

Looking at AA routeplanner the roads are not very clear from Clonee to Leixlip? is it a roundabout way for this leg of the trip?

    Another option

M50-N3- Dunboyne by-pass - head towards Maynooth (R157), take back road via Carton house -Leixlip- Celbridge.

There is a back road near carton house (Kellystown lane) it's closed for the moment, this brings you alongside Intel, you can then cross over the M4 and into Celbridge.

Maybe take the first route and explore other options when the evenings get a bit brighter.

I did the reverse trip. Since the tool booths are gone its fine, on a Friday Blanch exit is busy but if you stay on the right lane you fly through.

Seemed to have deleted my post
