Steam train in Co Galway May 12th
There will be an old steam train travelling from Dublin to Athenry on Sat 12th May, it will then take the Western corridor through Craughwell, Labane, Kiltartan,Gort to Ennis, first time since 1994 that a steam engine will have travelled that section of line.

IT probably runs as fast as a modern train too, Irish rail is shockingly embarrassing compared to the rest of Europe.

A colleague at work rang the Athenry station today and it was the first they'd heard of it!
Its scheduled to leave Connolly at 9.40 tomorrow morning with a water stop in Athlone. Probably best to check the irishrail site for updates of rail traffic Click for station updates Its due in Athenry at 2.20 pm and will be there for about an hour taking on water Last edited by Blue850; 12-05-2012 at 10:29. |
