Hi all,

    Hi Guys

    I need advice. I am babysitting two bearded dragons for their owner while they are on holidays. One of the dragons started acting strange last night and today I found a white pod in its tray. I looked on google and it looks like it may be an egg. Thing is I know the owner wanted to hatch the eggs and what I need to know is will there be more eggs and how long does it take for the dragon to lay them all and how do I store the eggs for incubation? Unfortunately the owner wasnt expecting the dragon to lay eggs while they were away and therefore didnt give me the tools needed to safely store or incubate the eggs. Can anyone advise me on what to do?

    Where did the dragon lay the egg? Did she bury it?

    Does your friend have experience with breeding dragons?

    A dragon lays approx 20 eggs per clutch. She may lay up to 6 clutches. She will normally lay the clutch in around 30 mins.

    Edit: bear in mind bearded dragons excrete through a cloaca so their fecal matter and urine come out combined, the urine is white and egg like. Is there any chance she just passes a lot of urine and minimal feces, a photo would be best.

    Id go to a pet shop which sells reptiles and ask for their advice!

    I wouldn't. I'd go to a reptile specialist, a lot of pet shops know nothing about proper reptile care.

    It was one egg (at least I think was an egg) buried in the sand. The dragon hasnt eaten since it was laid. It seems healthy and moving around just not interested in eating.

    Well went to a specialist in reptiles. Turns out Dragons were bored of their food. Gave them Locusts and wax worms and they absolutely love them. They seem to really enjoy chasing the locusts around the cage... soo funny. Well the egg turned out tobe a calcium deposit and nothing to worry about. Thanks for you help anyway. The will be back with their owner in a few days, happy and healthy thank good.
