Hi, just a bit concerned, usually when I log into my broadband, it automatically opens on the three mobile broadband page. However when I did it today, a large red box saying this website has been attacked it also had the options to click on (get the hell outta here or continue )- Was my computer being hacked by any chance?

You're using the internet without anti-virus?

Not a good idea. Oh, and there are plenty of FREE and excellent antivirus software out there. You don't need to pay.

I hope you have a good firewall installed at least? Absolutely crucial.

Sounds like a security certificate was out of date more than a hacking attempt tbh.

Your computer is probably already riddled with spyware/adware/trojans. just because your not getting a BSOD does not mean your not affected.

Your computer is probably stuffed full of spyware and trojan horses without you noticing. Slowdowns and the like only occur once it's too late and the system would be damaged so far as to be unrecoverable.

You don't need to go near the porn sites to get viruses-I have Avast pro on my machine along with Malwarebytes(which is free and essential) Ditch Windows Firewall and get a better one-PC Tools have a decent free one.
Anyone that surfs the net without protection is asking for trouble-there's so many free antivirus and antimalware programs out there, you should have no excuse.Norton will slow down a machine so stay away from it.
And remember UNINSTALL your old antivirus BEFORE installing a new one.

You don't need to do anything to get infected. There are security vulnerabilities in many common programs, and in Windows that can be exploited to infect your computer just through an active internet connection.

You may get away without it for a year...maybe two, but eventually your laptop will get infected with something that causes massive damage.

i think on the year two the laptop will be sold including formatting the HDD and new fresh OS put on it :)

I think there are some dreadful viruses spreading through sites. Back up and scan your files and do a clean install with best Anti-virus and don't forget to uninstall old before installing new antivirus.
