Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Hey guys I'm making the pilgrimage to the Millennium stadium this year regardless of who is in it. Once again booking travel is a nightmare. There will be 6-8 of us based in Limerick all the flights are extortinate prices. Looks like I will have to drive and pay the €1000 to bring two cars over and back again this year.

    Does anyone have any better solutions?

    Fly Shannon to one of the other British airports serviced by Ryanair and hire a car ot use trains.

    Was at the final last year in Twickers, would estimate that 60% of the crowd were wearing Munster jerseys... very tempted to start the Fields... for spite.

    they're not a €1000 either though. I went over myself the last time on the cork swansea ferry. its grand out. Takes about 9hrs. its goes through the night so u just sleep and u get there in morning. Pretty cheap too. Also takes about the same amount of time(2hrs drive to rosslare, 3hr 30min crossing, 2hrs to cardiff). The stena line ferry from rosslare to fishgaurd is cheap enough too.

    yeah thats what a mate of mine did for the final in 06.

    come to think of it they either got a train or hired a car but they definiteley flew to bristol and worked out fine

    I am also an optimistic Munster fan. Missed 06 as my last exam of my last year in college was on the monday after the Heinken Cup final in 06 :mad:

    I booked a flight from Dublin, living in Dublin now, to Bristol and then taking train to Cardiff. Total for me is about 170 for return flight + return train ticket. That was in Decmeber so prices might be a little higher now.

    IIRC, train ticket is only about 10stg and only takes about 40 minutes to get to Cardiff

    If you're willing to take some holidays fly to Bristol for a couple of days, then go to the match, then get train to London for a few days and then fly back. You only get screwed if you're flying in on few days surrounding the match. Two days earlier is often substantially cheaper.

    looking at web pages its abround €350-€400 for a car with 4 people

    so two car loads around €700-€800
