No surprise with the Leinster result. I'll be at Connacht Munster next weekend which will be interesting to see....

Were you at any of the games this weekend ?

I was at all the leinster games.

    u20's
Leinster's pack were pretty dominant, led by Max Deegan but ably supported by Will Connors and two hard working locks in Melia and Jones. Whittle managed the game well and Terry Kennedy took his tries very well. James Ryan came off the bench and looked well considering it was his 1st game since Michaels lost in the cup due to a back injury.

    the u19's
the game was a huge mismatch. And Leinster were missing a lot of good players due to injury. Larmour was electric but he isn't a centre above underage level. Not much else to say, it was 91-0. Everyone played well.

    u18 schools
close game, leinster did well to survive after being down to 13 for awhile. Doris was a huge presence for Leinster. both of leinster's locks were huge men, Harry Byrne plays a lot like his brother.

    u18 clubs
leinster started slowly and munster raced to a 14 point lead.. leinster woke up and replied with 29 unanswered. Nash the fullback was very impressive, huge athlete with world class potential. club side still a bit behind the schools side size wise but a lot of impressive athletes in the leinster pack.

    ye any questions?

Really strong club presence in that Leinster u19s side, which is nice to see.

    schools backline, club pack basically.

several players missing due to injury to: Jack Kelly, Joe Carley, Tom De Jongh, Conor Hand, Mike Sweeney, Mattie Keane, Jonny Guy.

Granted most of those missing are backrows.

no surprise? you expected a 91-0 result?
A "thrashing", "thumping" would be 50/60-0. 91-0 is something else. Will the results against the other provinces be similar (for either connacht or leinster) do you think?

There was a few players who stood out from this year's SCT who don't seem to be involved in any of the above squads.. Most notably Dan Trayers, but other guys too like James Lappin of Clongowes, Jesse Iredale and Sean Long of Belvedere looked good I thought.. Are they injured?

Trayers has been involved with Connacht.... not sure if injured now
Iredale is only 18s or 19s.

Any thoughts on this weekends games?
Will be at Connacht Ulster Friday. Most likely 2 away wins this weekend

The laws have been discussed elsewhere but the junior world championship isn't trialling them. The trophy, 2nd tier, competition is trialling them.

    Anyone going tonight to games?
Will be at the Connacht Ulster.

Odd to see that Ulster have left out eligible academy players like jake byrne, johnny mcphillips, jacob stockdale. Have heard Alex Kane (13) is looking good, tell me how he goes on.

    Maybe there is injuries????

Connacht were deserved winners over Ulster 28-8. Conditions were horrible but it was a super game for the conditions. Slightly surprised Ulster were as poor as they were. Will give a better report when I dry off!!!!
Munster beat Leinster 22-8. Anyone at that game?

Too early to say for a lot of guys even with 2 rounds of interpros played. Munster will have a lot if as expected they win the interpro series Friday evening
Who do you think will be in the squad?

Only seen 1 20s so far.

Adam McBurney wasn't too bad. Few other Ulster guys were alright but they weren't great overall...

Tim Carroll, Alan McMahon, Matt Cosgrove and Conan O Donnell were stand outs for Connacht iirc from the game

Surprised claffey didn't stand out , wonder if trayers would replace cosgrove if fit . I think the fate of this u20s team will be the same as last years being the pack are too small and will get out muscled. The u18 England captain a few years ago who captained the u18 team that beat ireland in the final was playing 7 for ospreys against munster in the weekend and was outstanding , absolutely smashed copeland at one point and then proceeded to win the penalty for copeland not releasing. He's eligible for England this year and if he's standing out at pro 12 level what hope to our backrow have against England in the six nations. England also have the enormous joe batley back again this year.

That's from what I remember off top of my head. There was others but It was cold/wet at game and ....
That Ireland are out muscled at 20s will virtually always be the way due to how the professional set ups in each country differ and how guys are involved at a pro level etc

dont know much about people other than exiles, am rather confused as to why ulster left out academy names like j.mcphillips, byrne etc, seems odd because they are definitely eligible. thy may be injured but i doubt it
