I have a B licence for over 10 years and am considering applying for other tests - light truck, bus etc.

Is there a good online resource of what one needs to know for these tests. Official sites don't seem to have any more than a link to applying for your test. I sent an email some months ago requesting the above info but received no reply.

For the theory tests there is a book and CD-ROM with all the questions for all categories included.

For the practical the main thing necessary is an ability to drive the truck or bus and you will only get that with lessons.

    1. Apply and pass theory test. http://www.dtts.ie
    2. Get medical cert (available on-line or in Garda station) filled in by your doctor.
    3. Apply for Provisional C, C1, D, D1 whichever you want.
    4. Get lessons. Your instructor should advise on all aspects of the test, practical and oral questions.
    5. Apply for test. There is usually little wait for C/D tests, 2-4 weeks so only apply when you are up to standard.
