As for the GT 650M, we had a discussion about the graphics memory here recently. Dell doesn't specify the VRAM type in the Irish website, on the Australian Dell website it says GDDR5 but you may want to ask a sales rep to make sure.

Other than that it is quite pricey, more than €1,200 if you add the VAT and delivery. There is a 17.3" Sammy w similar specs but a lot cheaper (€930 after cashback) here... and you'll get a Bluray drive. (This GT 650M comes with 2 GB DDR3 VRAM)

If it's purely gaming specs, you're looking for, check the offers at computeruniverse.net (usually they ship with a German keyboard) or configure your own gaming laptop at Schenker, you'll find much better gaming laptops there for 1,200 yoyos.

Thanks for that, in regards to the graphics card why would the ram type make a difference? Excuse me as i've no idea about this!!

in regards to the graphics card why would the ram type make a difference?

From the GT 650M review at notebookcheck.com:
However, the 128-Bit memory interface can be a bottleneck if DDR3 graphics memory is employed. Despite the slower core clock of only 735 MHz, the GDDR5-version of the card should be much faster.
