Cork Intermediates? didn't think he was eligible this year, could be wrong

I don't think he is the type of player that could drop down to that level. He would be more than able though talent wise, but i would say after being at the top level for 15 years he would not have the same drive or passion at a lower level.I would say he is gone completely. He said he had a chat with JBM a while back and was told that he was gone,it was never mentioned that he would come back in to the panel for the Championship. He said he wished JBM the best.It was time to move on.He was putting an end to the whole thing too,he did not want it being dragged out.
With the pub,Cloyne, the GPA and the public speaking events he does he won't be bored anyhow.I wish him the best.

On another note, UCC won the Freshers Hurling Championship today, they beat NUIG by 2 points.
Ger Cunningham is their coach. That was their 4th title in a row.

Well he didnt play Senior championship with Cork or Cloyne last year, so that makes him eligible. While what you said, "Thinkstoomuch", i agree with re: him dropping down and what not, he also strikes me as a fella that would give anything to represent Cork hurling. There's the bones of a very good Cork intermediate team potentially with the likes of Harnedy, Hartnett and others who've featured lately, training and matches, for the seniors, and underage over the last 2/3 years. A lot of potential seniors

As an aside, Martin Coleman is also eligible for the Cork Intermediates having not played senior champ last year for club or county. We seem to have more top class goalkeepers in Cork than we do ball winning half forwards!!

That is true too,Cusack would do anything for the Cork Jersey if asked.Time will tell.

Id say Harnedy will get a run in the league. If he impress he will be on the Senior panel rather than the intermediates.
The intermediates are Cork best chance of success as the Cork minors hurlers or U21's will not win anything this year. The U21's hurlers would be lucky to win one game.

my thoughts exactly...unless he is injured its bizzare.i think our team is grand but no way should egan be dropped and Joyce moved from the Centre.
White was the weakeast of the half back line and should of been dropped not egan.
Joyce also deserved to be centre back.
    Any news yere team lad?
what is yere half forward line like?

No line-up yet i think. Connors, Shanahan and Walsh not available. Team will be much like Clare game I imagine

Egan probably rested after the Fitzgibbon imo. no harm giving White another game. wouldn't read much into the switching of Joyce, we'll see how they line up when the ball is thrown in

yeah u have a point, and lehane and farell had a busy last 2 weeks of hurling.
I would put lorchan at 7 and let joyce learn the role. But they can always swtich during the game.Lorchan wont weaken the team, half back suits him.
It is a strong cork bench.Fair play he is trying O Brien out.

IMO i am not sure if McDonnell is suited for FB role after the league final against Kilkenny last year where he was absolutely destroyed.

Why isn't Colm O Neill thrown in at 14? I think he's lethal near the goals like what he did against Donegal in 2012. He got one goal and hit the post with the other and was unlucky.

i would not take CC team as bible. That could all change at throw in.I would nt expect Mahony to start full back,he was exposed against Kildare and Down.Cahalane is a massive loss for this game.

He is not a full back but be fair to JBM he has no real options.B Murphy may be a stop gap but he is nothing near a full back.Mark Ellis may be an option but he plays all hes club level at half back line.Spillane is the natural full back but that will take time,he only sat hes leaving cert last year.He did not even get a full U21 game under hes belt,he got injured after ten minutes.
Darragh Rodgers would have been highly regarded a few years ago and was full back against Tipp last year in that game.He has been badly hampered by a lot of serious injuries.
The options at full back are very very poor.
Cahalane and Cadogan were big losses to this team.We would of taken either one now.

I thought Macky recovered well from the league final. He was solid enough in that championship match against Waterford.Macky is probably more of a corner back but i still think he's our best fit for the full back position at the moment.

Interesting to see what they do with the goalie one for normal games. Will they keep the stripes or go back to the all white.

    Waterford 10-2 cork h time.
Cork physically being blown away first half.It will take sum turnaround to win this even with the breeze.

Very true - but the breeze down there on a day like this is a huge factor.
I expect Cork to drive on in the second half ( and win:eek:)

Waterford 0-15 v Cork 1-12 A super 2nd half performance was not enough as Waterford drew level and nearly won it at the very end!!

Footballers doing very well indeed...up 6pts at the minute!!

very encouraging performance in Omagh and a draw probably a fair result given the conditions in Dungarvan. should be a big crowd in Pairc Ui Rinn next week for the double header
