A couple of the pundits in the studio did point out that athletes are extremely vulnerable after a race where they have underperformed as well as being in oxygen debt etc so sticking a mike in their face can lead to interviews which on reflection don't reflect how the athlete actually feels

In the Europeans gregan was interviewed in a situation where he could barely talk

Again its organisation - watch the boxers being interviewed and two coaches always standing alongside them ready to move in and end it if needed.

The problem I have with this forum during the olympics is that alot of people on here prob dont know that Ciaran won was 10th in the world last year.
Give the lad a break, it was heat of the moment if you take the time to listen to his interview the following day it is much better.
There are people sitting on the arses everyday of the year on the dole, not even looking for a job.
Ciaran has worked hard for right to compete in the Olympics from a very young age.
