Have you ever got gear in Atlantic shooting and fishing in Carlow? Only heard about this place last week, must check it out

went to the woodies in blackpool in cork city yesterday. Got myself alot of jelly worms for the pollock and bass next summer and the last packet of aberdeen hooks. There was little left but a lot of coarse fishing tackle if it suits anyone and a few rods.

Folks - I was just in my local Woodies, they are selling all tackle @ 70% off.
Mostly budget Fladen stuff, so ok at such a discounted price....

I got a heap of lures, spinners, softbaits and various odds and sods for next to nothing, girl on checkout confirmed it was same in all Woodies..

This has been running since Christmas week at least. Most stores are now empty.
There's coverage of it on the tackle shops thread.

Landers of Tralee sell them as far as I know. The small tackle shop in killarney (I can't think if the name but they're in the town centre ) should do too.

Landers got rid of it claiming there is no money in it, and o sullivans in killarney has very little :-(

Swords Angling Centre has just opened up in the last few days. It is owned by Ruairi Coleman, and is at Unit 1, Bramley Terrace, Applewood. It has a good range of tackle, with more to arrive in the next few days. He will also be selling live and dead bait. He caters for coarse, game, and sea angling. I popped up for a look a few hours ago.

Theres a new place open in Tralee in Clash called star super store. It seems to be open strange hours, Saturdays 9-6 and weds and friday evenings. I'm going to head over this week and check it out and I'll report back

Anyone with opinions on Anglers World on Mullingar? Looks to be a superstore which I'd usually head to Southside for but believe it or not, with traffic, driving to Mullingar can sometimes seem more appealing than driving into town so I'm thinking of popping out Friday.

Just got my second consignment from troutflies.co.uk and they are excellent quality, very well priced, with low postage and speedy delivery. They seem to have a huge range of patterns and sizes. They are my new first stop for flies!

I was there April(ish) on the way to fish Owel, chap running it/behind the counter was sound out, very honest - my mate wanted to buy a reel, he told him to go off and investigate properly as oppossed to flogging him something there and then. My sense was it is geared more towards course/pike than fly anglers, don't mean this in a bad way!

Cheers for that, got in there yesterday and the chap behind the counter is the same guy used to run Outdoor Pursuits in Mullingar town before it closed, very nice guy and good tips. Shop itself is good, little sparse. I wonder is the Navan branch maybe more substantial given its the main store seemingly

Hasn't been mentioned here yet, Outdoor Pursuits tackle shop in Ballinrobe, Co. mayo is a great shop

I finally got round to checking this place out, not a whole lot of stuff, a couple of traces, feather rigs and hooks. Reasonably priced on weights though

Was in there today, definitely my new go to tackle shop. Chap that served me was saying they're still nowhere near fully stocked yet either, which made sense to me as I saw they had loads of Savage Gear equipment, but no Savage Gear lures, lots to come from that place.
