Holiday payed off, just to go to the dentist now and then I can insure my car. If I have it running by then I'll definitely want to see what it's putting out... 24 years later!

Edit: The redneck expressed interest, he didn't say in what though.

It would choke us worse than the 406.
Everything else is auto though. :p

I'll have my Chemo on standby anyway.
Looks like I'll have a tow to the dyno even if it's not insured, so providing I've the rocker gasket done I should be good!

To hell with it I've been humming and hawing about this and I'll stick the 530 up for this. See what's she's lost :)

Smartass :) Also have something interesting in the pipeline that will run alongside the 30d.
It's petrol too, got to quell the tensions on fuel around here :)

Would be more interesting for this than the 530 actually.

Actually, I will be in it, I'm really interested to know what it puts out this time and I doubt I'll have it's replacement ready/can't be arsed paying for 2 runs!

    ARISE THREAD!!

I'm guessing this has died a death, but does or is anyone still going for this??

Westward engineering do dynos for 60 a piece and I'm sure a generous discount is in order for the few that show up

I'd like to get a readout on my C180k but i've heared of issues with autos on dynos. Car has ESP but have the ability to switch car into dyno mode which disables the ESP and ABS but i think the auto will cause improper readings

If this is going ahead in June i should have something new to bring to it with moar cylinder

What gearbox is in the Mercedes ?As long as you have a 1:1 ratio between the engine and transmission the reading will be accurate.

Not sure tbh. Only got the car two months ago so still not 100% on all its systems n stuff. ESP told me to cop on trying to power out of a roundabout though :pac:

Any idea on how i can check what box is in it?

EDIT: think its this one - 5G-TRONIC (722.6)?
    its a 5 speed

here are the ratios according to Wikipedia

    Mercedes-Benz Transmissions
    Gear 1 2 3 4 5 R1 R2
    5G-TRONIC (W5A330/Small NAG)[2] 3.932 2.408 1.486 1.00 0.83 -3.10 -1.90
    5G-TRONIC (W5A580/Large NAG)[3] 3.59 2.19 1.41 1.00 0.83 -3.16 -1.93

The main issue is that most autos won't allow you to hold a certain gear all the way up to the red line. They'll just shift when they think it's right to. If you have a manual mode that will allow you to shift gears and hold them, you'll be fine.

Yep. Have manual mode and will rev all the way to the redline.
Gearbox also has Sport & Comfort modes. It seems the Sport mode drags out the ratios longer
    Thanks :)

(Would love to see Clevelands 300ZX :D )
