I did my theory test today, passed then went straight to motor tax office with application. everything went ok, and I was told my physical permit would be out to me in 5 working days. Can I drive a tractor untill then or do I have to wait? I heard something about having 10 days to provide your licence in a garda station if I was stopped and didnt have it on me?

You should wait until you physically have the permit in your hand.

Is that based on the law? or is that your opinion? It just sucks waiting a week for it..

The law. You don't yet hold a valid permit

Suppose when you think about, Thanks. according to my da they used to hand a receipt that could be used while you wait, because technically I have everything that was required done. Eye test and theory test.. and the women at the motor tax said everything was in line.. Il just have to be patient then. Thanks for your help :)

If you're riding on private land you don't need a LP. You can always get your dad to drive the tractor to the land and then you can take over?
