Sacre bleu!…….. DCENR official, Ken Spratt is re-tweeting an interview with Susan Crawford, the US fibre-to-the-home advocate.

Ken, as some may remember, was closely associated with the National Broadband Scheme (NBS) and the Rural Broadband scheme and has since been promoted to the rank of Assistant Secretary in the Energy section.

Ken’s re-tweet of Ms Crawford is interesting because at least twice during the interview she draws attention to the fact that mobile technology, on which Mr Spratt's NBS is built, is a “complementary” technology. To avoid all doubt she stresses that it is "not a substitute" to fibre. So why did Mr Spratt re-tweet something that he clearly doesn’t believe himself. Has he recently changed his mind about mobile? Maybe he’ll join the forum and tell us.

Also Civil Service does things for many reasons. they may not "Believe" in Mobile but promote it due to some other agenda.

Re-watch the Civil Service Training DVD the BBC released.
