As above, Maxol E5 is around 98 octane and unless you have a Japanese import your car is probably mapped for 95 octane anyway and won't get any benefit from an increase in octane numbers

Because it didn't work on a Rover that was mapped for 95ron fuel doesn't mean they don't work

In fact running a quality octane booster, like Millers CVL, when mapping a car will allow for more timing and will increase power. Or on Jap/Performance cars it will make a difference because they'll be mapped to run on a higher octane fuel from factory and the ECU will pull timing to cope with the lower octane fuel available at the pumps here. However on run of the mill stuff it won't be worth a Tom Hank

Yep, from the documentation on their site, it's 99RON but as it's a 5% ethanol mix, it's energy potential is slightly less so more fuel is required for the same effect as a properly refined 99RON fuel.

I have both a JDM MX5 and a JDM Evo so it's the only thing that either see. Not sure it makes much difference on the MX5 but I've had the Evo specifically mapped for 99RON (in the UK) so it's all it gets.

Not much (if any) price difference getting Maxol E5, so it's all my cars see.

I think this stuff works with older cars like pre 80's which were designed to operate with 98 / 99 octane and you will see the results here and not with a modern car which is designed to operate on todays fuel and computer to keep thins in order
