I'm travelling outside of the EU. I have a Samsung with an O2 sim that I bought from an O2 store. Will I able to just replace the sim card with a local one from that country or will I need to get a new phone?

    Thanks.

If the phone is not locked to the O2 network, yes. Easiest way to test is to insert a friend's SIM and if you can make calls the phone is unlocked. You can also contact O2 and ask for an unlock code. There may be conditions to getting that code.

Alternatively there are 3rd party services which offer to unlock the phone, use at your own risk.
