Im sure theres plenty to cover in just arguing who should be starting in each position!

A particularly angle to cover would be good! We'd rather not re-hash what will be said in the media.

Btw we'll also cover the ERC draws!

    • Lions vs Queensland Reds Preview
    • Top14 Review

Le vieux renard asks when the next show is planned? He would be grateful if thomond2006 and his esteemed colleagues might discuss who will kick goals for Australia - will it be James, Berrick or Christian?

Il n'y a pas de quoi, thomond2006. Such a gentleman! The VR guesses he should not be surprised from such a prolific veteran. These are exciting times for rugby - good luck for the show, mon ami!

(in his humble opinion, the VR would go for Berrick...and maybe Kurtley if he graces the game off the bench)

The Lions are defeated, but will this make them stronger for the real test to come against the Aussies?

Ireland enjoy a comfortable win against Canada after a scare by the USA, while France are brushed aside by a rampant New Zealand team.

On Talking Rugby this week, Dave O’Grady is joined by the Ulster Doctor Thomas, English-based Munster man Eamonn and Leinster fan Padraig for an in dept look at all the week’s Rugby.

    Coming up on the show:

0:00 – Finally the Austalia test has come for the Lions

36:00 – Ireland beats Canada and the USA. There is success for the Emerging Talent squad in Georgia but disappointment for the Under 20’s.

52:00 – France playing for pride against the All Blacks?

    1:01:00 – Japan beat Wales!

Enjoyable show lads - it's the first time I heard Eamonn on the show, but he's a keeper! Also, the usual solid analysis from Podge & Thomas (what Thomas doesn't know about SH rugby, is not worth knowing), ably managed by the indomitable Dave. Keep up the good work!

Excellent podcast as always. Just interested to know where Eamon’s accent is from? Sounds English with a bit of Welsh and maybe a tiny bit of Irish thrown in.

Dave is taking a week off so it'll be either Alan (who?!) or Matt/Swiwi presenting.

Any questions for the panel would be greatly appreciated as always. We are recording tomorrow night.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,815 ✭✭✭✭emmet02

@Matt, who are you galivanting as now?

What do you make of ScreenNameGate?

Should Mako start or should he sub? (Consider the torture he'd be under in the scrum).

Croft, lineout extraordinaire or one trick pony? (What a trick though!)

Considering Faletau and Heaslip both performing well, and both having high levels of ability, are the concerns about "GattyBall" and "The Warburton Situation" valid? GattyBall with the Welsh Backrow (pretend Faletau= Heaslip) have struggled against the Wallabies several times in the last few years, are we banging heads aganst a brick wall here?

The Loss of POC, Parling's time to shine? And what do you do about the bench? Croft and Lydiate/SOB to bench behind the "Well Balanced GattyBackRow"?

Corbisiero, Jenkins, Healy - the loosehead curse, if Grant takes a knee in Training, Stevens or Tom Court?

Manu, can he be a bench option? If not, does he force himself ahead of Davies?

Delighted to see Swiwi is still around. Could the panel maybe spend a minute or 2 to consider what Deans will do with his back line as injuries will force at least 2 changes to the starting lineup. Cheers!

Also. Why is Deans really ignoring QC?

I wouldn't say there's much more to it than the comments from QC having absolutely killed his international career under Deans. You cannot be so openly critical of the set up and think you'll be unaffected. Plus, he said in those comments he did not want to be involved in the squad. I don't think Deans has much option but to not select him even if there's a change of heart in Cooper.

Will the lions win the series because of gatlands tactics, or despite them.
