Either do I, because that would be ridiculous. I go expecting a Spiderman film. I did hope $250 million would be spent on something other than a half-assed 'remake' (or whatever we can dub it) with nothing much of note bar better acting.

I discussed my disappointments with the film earlier in the thread, starting here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showp...&postcount=812

How can something be half assed if it is far and above the best example? Only spiderman 2 was decent out of the last trilogy.

Oh trust me if you're a Spider-Man fan you don't want to watch it. It's god awful. It's the first Spider-Man cartoon to directly and intentionally pander to kids and be condescending. Nothing at all like the 90s cartoon or even the more recent Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon. It was an incredibly bad decision to cancel TSSM in order for Disney to make USM. Im not gonna lie to you...at one stage Thor was turned into a frog....a flipping frog

In fairness, that happened in the comics as well.

The cartoon is dreadful, though.

I don't think USM cartoon is that bad. There are a few good episodes, like when he body swaps with Wolverine or when he is turned into Spider-Ham. Its just that it has almost zero depth to any of the characters or stories.

Clark Gregg is in it, playing Agent Coulson (undercover as the principal of Peter Parker's school), and I'll take all the Coulson I can get.

yeah.

its not my cup of tea but i thought the doctor doom episode was really well done.

its just a radically different writing style. more anarchic than drama led ala the avengers and xmen series.

sort of a "what if spiderman met the young ones" .doesnt mean it cant have its place, though i can see why fans would be pissed if theres no alternative to it knocking around the same time.

i wouldnt be happy with a transformers series like this.

TBH it'd be a better format for a deadpool series.

the amazing spider man

whats the story with the new spider man movie. i just seen the trailer (the amazing spider man)
they seemed to have gone back to the beginning with a new cast and a total reboot. why not just continue where they left off?

And also Sony had to make another movie if they wanted to hang onto the rights.

Thought Maguire fit the role myself.
He was more like a natural geek whereas Garfield seems to be forcing it.

I think Garfield wasn't meant to be such a geek though, the way he dressed and acted was very different from Toby.
