Visited this campsite for a few nights recently. Very impressive place after undergoing much work with new hardstanding pitches, spotlessly clean facilities and friendly owners and fantastic value.
Close to the village, right beside the sea, this place has something for everybody.

Thanks for sharing, hadn't heard of this new site, looks nice http://strandcampingdoonbeg.com/

Price-wise seems to be the same as most other sites, €31 for 2+2+Electricity

They have a special offer on price at the moment. It's on their website. Really good value.

Ok, not seeing that special offer on their website, only seeing the Prices section on the right-hand side of their website.

What is the special offer? Is it still valid during the upcoming Easter holiday break?

They have a special rate for March and April, its in the Special Offer section of their website, click on the picture on the right hand side of the front page.
    You'll be pleasantly surprised.
    Or give Jamie a ring.

Doh! My bad! Thanks for that explanation on how to get there, can see the details now!

So for those dates €19 instead of €31 for 2+2+Electricity - Very nice, pity other campsite owners wouldn't offer deals like that, fair play Strand Camping Doonbeg! :-)

The owners have their own Camper Van which might help to explain a few things like the quality pitches, showers & toilets, facilities in general and the special offer prices.
A campsite run by campers, now that's a real novelty.

Don't understand what this has to do with Strand Camping in Doonbeg.
Except maybe it has something to do with the price of Mannix Point using an ACSI card at restricted times.
Maybe you made a mistake and meant to open a new thread.
There's a world of difference between the 2 places, not least that there's no Easter restriction in Doonbeg on the offer price while there is in Mannix Point.

I have passed that site loads of times and often thought about staying a night. Now that it's refurbished that's even more reason to go. It's close to White strand which is a nice sheltered cove beach.

It's great to see a nice site open in this part of the country but for the facilities they offer I would find their high season prices too high, especially for a large family. They do seem to have a lot of things right though and it is a great location for touring Loop Head.

We stayed there at Easter time, and loved it. Owners were very helpful and welcoming, it is very well kept, and the location is beautiful.
It is quiet, but in a good way, the village is within walking distance, and the area has plenty to see.

+1. Jamie and Amanda are great hosts and very welcoming and helpful. It's an ideal base for touring the Clare leg of the WAW. Make sure to visit Bridges of Ross on the way to Loop head, a hugely underrated attraction way off most radars! Doonbeg village - 10 mins walk away / 1 km - has a couple of shops and plenty of bars. Tubridy's pub/restaurant is a good spot to watch sport. White Strand - 30 mins walk away / 3 km is a lovely beach, the strand directly across from the campsite is not suitable for swimming. Nearest supermarkets (Supervalu / Aldi / Tesco) are in Kilrush - 12km away. Lovely site and would certainly recommend it.

Loop Head itself has a great car park outside the Lighthouse walls where many continentals stay for an overnight - no facilities though. Just a large open cap park.
