Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    I love the way this forum is going, and I think there are a lot more potential short story writers here then we originally thought. for this reason, instead of starting threads all over the shop we could have this thread stickied and edited by mods with a list of people who would want to read the short stories written by our fellow hunters

    The story I'm working on at the minute is a bit long to PM so is it cool if I just add the chapters here as attachments as I do them Like I did in the "new project" thread?

    can you not add attachments in PM's?


    how do you add attachments anyways?

    edit: send it chapter by chapter in PM if nothing else :) I just sent about 850 words

    Is there any particular reason the stories can't just be published on the forum? Copyright is automatic as far as I know, and it would add a lot.

    Threads and threads of replies in between chapter posts would be messy

    This way is much better, and the PDF that one of the guys used was brilliant

    Like Tallon said, its just to keep things tidy. As for copyright your correct, its automatic on anything you write but if i see a very familiar sounding novel on a shelf in Easons, there'll be hell to pay :D lol

    That does make sense. I guess ideally you'd just want a sub forum with one thread per story, and leave discussions to the main forum. Its such a great idea it would be good to make it as publicly accessable as possible, plus there are the problems with five people per PM some have mentioned, could get unwieldy as members build up.

    i won't be writing much, but i wouldn't mind a read; can also provide some pointers wherever my field of study allows, same should be said for everyone else; if you know a lot on the subject matter, or the locale in the story, help out.

    Sorry about my lack of submissions, I killed my Laptop about 2 weeks ago, my IT Guy says that there is no hope of recovering any of the Data that was stored on it, so I'll have to start again :(

    What ever happened to the Short Story thread, the one where we were gonna write a Chapter at a pop each, That had potential, but I dont want to be to only one contributing.

    Im in the same boat as you, 3 people had contributed including the two of us so maybe we should give it another go :P
