Yeah they keep on going about their new HD set even though their broadcasting in SD. It was the same old rubbish.

New set is appallingly garish! What is it with all the pink, orange and yellow?
The wallpaper is like something you would see in Granny's house!! The couches
are so close to the ground, everyone looks tiny - definitely not an improvement!! I
do not believe for one minute that 'everyone loves our new set'!!!

Now that Mark is coming back, I wonder if there will be a return to the format where
Anton Savage discusses the news of the day with the panel. That was my very
favourite part of the IrelandAM. Was really disappointed when it came to an end.

That's probably due to her new dental work!

    She's a shockingly bad presenter

    Cannot stand her

Plus the same garish title sequence (used for at least six years now) and the same boring old saxophone-and-piano theme tune.

Which, I believe, has been used since the show began in 1999 - so it has to be considered one of the longest-running theme tunes for an Irish TV programme.

The P&G sponsorship stings, meanwhile, are worse than ever before.

Is the tv3 fashion shop part of tv3s revenue?

I'm not sure about the set.. Think there might have been a similar one on itv at some stage

    Ah, TV-am... :D:D;);)

Here are the respective full versions of the theme tunes for Good Morning Britain and Daybreak (the TV-am programmes, that is, and not the current ITV breakfast service and its immediate predecessor).

Both were composed by Jeff Wayne - and both are ten thousand trillion times better than Ireland AM's theme tune... ;);)

He called into the set a few days ago. Said he had had a procedure done on his back.
When asked about the new set, he replied that it looked......very bright! But he was
sure he would get used to it!!

Anton's ego will go into orbit now he has been given his own tv show.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,472 ✭✭✭brooke 2

Sorry to see Anton is leaving IrelandAM. Was hoping they would resume the
Daybreak slot with him when Mark returns.

I think we can safely say now that the "news hour" is no more.

I can suggest four possible reasons why it was dropped:

    * It wasn't quite as popular as TV3 thought it would be.
    * They decided it wouldn't work as well without Anton.
    * They noticed that Good Morning America for Britain (again, to distinguish it from TV-am's Good Morning Britain) wasn't doing anything similar.
    * They dropped it out of panic over UTV Ireland.

And I can't help but lean towards the fourth one... :o:o;)

My feeling towards it is that it was created to give the rest of the gang the opportunity to work on screen from 8-10.45. But it didn't quite work out like that. You still had Cagney, Cooney and Desmond in the studio from 7.
Extending it out an extra 45 minutes was a bad idea, and I'm glad they have reduced it back to ending at 10am.

She does have a rack that won't quit and keeps herself very fit, but the voice, the voice would drive u demented.

Just caught the shambolic beginning to the 15th Birthday edition, an amateurish clusterf**k of mortifying proportions, just a day like any other really. Though maybe the malfunctioning of gobshyte Cooneys microphone for the first 10 minutes was an inside job

What is the point of the children doing the presenting? Even by IrelandAM standards, this is a mess.
