Indie Game: The Movie - Brilliant and as good as or even better than The King of Kong.

    Anyone with Irish netflix -

    1. Is Breaking Bad on there?
    and
    2. Which seasons?

    Cheers! :D

(Or if there's a site which gives the content for the Irish netflix, that would be even better).

    Cheers,
    Quad

Watched Insomnia the other night as I had never seen it before. Was a really good psychological thriller and must be one of the last decent films Al Pacino has done. Didn't really feel like a Chris Nolan film though, to be expected considering its a remake I suppose.

Renewed Netflix yesterday and started on Breaking Bad S2.

One thing I noticed - image quality is notably better. It's not blu ray 1080p standard but it's better than DVD anyway.

Watched Buried with Ryan Reynolds and The Grey with Liam Neeson found both to be very enjoyable movies. Also watched Knuckle about the Irish traveller bare knuckle fighting, thought it was very well made documentary.

An update to the Ps3 app totally broke Netflix on me last night. I had to delete the app and re-download - which thankfully downloaded the old version. Everything with the PS3 is such a pain.

The PS3 has the most frustrating OS in the history of gaming hardware. The software usually makes it worth it, but the 360 with its near instant updates puts the sluggish Sony machine to shame.

especially when installing something can take almost as long a downloading it to begin with.

Still prefer to suffer the PS3, then pay M$ for an Xbox live subscription! Never had an issue with netflix on PS3

It's a no-brainer really, would be one of the first things anyone would include if they were designing a streaming site/app. Even Youtube has one ffs.

I find it works best on the iPad. Often on the PS3 I get an error message telling me that this file cannot be played.

Has it been mentioned that Almodovar's The Skin I Live In is on Irish Netflix? If not, consider it mentioned. Not his best work, perhaps, but still a very neat and unusual thriller that takes some strange & unexpected twists. His trademark melodrama and brash visual style are present and correct, and I thought it was a big improvement over Broken Embraces.

Also see David Gordon Green's George Washington (also Irish), which is one of the most beautiful, engrossing coming of age films I've ever seen. Stunning filmmaking, and one of the best debut features of the last decade or two. Makes his recent moves towards dumbass comedy all the more depressing. His film Undertow is on there too: haven't seen it, but has its fans.

it happens me a lot if I try to resume playing something, usually just start it from the beginning again and fast forward, i've never had a single issue with netflix on my iphone, like ever, its just works.

Shunji Iwai's (fascinating director of All About Lily Chou Chou and Love Letter) Hana & Alice has just been added to US Netflix. Been meaning to import the DVD for a while, as I'm pretty sure it's never been released officially in Europe, or at least is long since out of print. Look forward to checking it out.

It's possibly the only film to ever have ever started as a Kit Kat commercial!

That film made be feel worse for buying and rather enjoying Fez given the ego of Mr. Fish. I guess sometimes one has to divorce the work from the creator.

Also, I could listen to Jonathan Blow talk about game design and give out about the Internet for an entire film.

Yet another poorly written piece by someone who doesn't understand what Netflix does.

It always annoys me when I read or hear people give out about Netflix because it doesn't have the latest releases. They don't seem to realise that if it did there is no way it would be only €7 a month.

Exactly, if folks want the latest films going then they should sign up to sky movies or their NowTV service which will give them all the latest films, just expect to pay a massive premium for it.

Between a cineworld unlimited card, netflix and unblockus I can get the very latest films as well as a huge catalogue of slightly older movies and tv shows for around €30 a month. Can also get all the TV players on console and the web so theres really no need for a TV subscription.

Admitedely, I do still "aquire" some of the latest American TV shows off the net as they air but thats only cos I'm impatient and the channels over here are getting a lot better at having them soon after they air in the US.

I used to pirate a lot more but simply by paying a couple of reasonably priced subscriptions, I can get a much nicer, easier way of seeing everything. This is in my opinion anyway.

I love Netflix, I sold/gave away the majority of my dvd collection, and a lot of stuff I got rid of is on there, so its dead handy, its worth the few quid a month for the amount of random stuff you can watch or catch up on, the tv shows especially. And you do get current stuff as well, Get The Gringo is on the US one, thats a 2012 release.

Watched Piranha 3D last night, on my 10 year old telly so wasnt exactly 3D. Recognized a number of the female actresses in it, looked it up on Wikipedia and turns out they're mostly pornstars :o! Enjoyed it none the less for what it was.

On the value of Netflix, i definetly think its worth it and have contemplated cancelling my television subscription. TV shows and movies when I want, no ads and plenty of selection.

My pirating has reduced greatly since I started using it. Used to download 3 or 4 movies a month, in the last 4 months I'd say I've only downloaded 1. If it wasn't for the fact NF doesn't HBO stuff I probably wouldn't download at all and the new HBO stuff is on Sky Atlantic anyway. I'm quite happy to wait until next year to see Breaking Bad Season 5 rather than download it now. Hopefully they'll get it quicker than they got season 4.
