Is the gym in Carlow free if you're doing a course such as Strength and Conditioning?

Sadly, it's not free, even on a sports-based course. Should be 60/70 for the year up until January, then half that until May.

So about 110 a year max really. Not bad!

Not even that much...just the one off payment :) The price just drops after the first semester is over! So it'll be either 60 or 70 for the year, Sept-May (although I doubt you'll get much use of it in May due to exams :D).

Do those type of courses not get use of the high performance gym? I lived with a guy on the rugby course and I believe he did.

I forgot about that. The specialist sports courses (soccer, rugby and GAA) can use that part of it, so can the sports rehab/sports science/S&C from what I know, but still need to pay for the regular gym membership and get permission to use the high performance section from an appropriate lecturer/coach (the gym have forms for this).

It does at that! First floor in the Barrow Centre, only open to I.T. students and staff though :)
