Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Insufficient Storage for Yosemite update

Hi, hopefully a stupid question, but when the Yosemite 10.10.3 update tells me I need 6.51GB disk space to update, is that 6.51GB that will be gone forever, or is it just temporary for the time it takes to upgrade? I have a 128gb Macbook air so have always been tight for space, always just about managed to get updates…

I have a 128gb Macbook air so have always been tight for space, always just about managed to get updates installed, but with about 4GB space, I'm struggling this time around.

Is it possible to use an external hard drive to install the update?
