I have a tray of storm left down in the attic for over a week now and not a snip has been taken yet.

I dont know what storm is but I guess its rodent killer. Maybe use some human food...

Whatever the noise is you should try and get it recorded and the upload it so we can listen...

Could be a rip in the space time fabric and you are encountering former residents. Sounds like they mean you no harm. These events usually stop after a while.

Before I state my case, let me inform you that I'm not much of a believer in ghosts n spirits, I have the 'religion' where "I believe when I see" moto.

But whats going on at my home these past few months has me a bit spooked. At first it was only my wife that had the experiences, and I really just laughed her off, saying she was hearing things !
But thats the problem , she was hearing things out on the landing of our two storey house. And it wasnt much of a deal to me until I started to hear them too.

What we hear is the sound of a child running along the landing. Since we have three kids, two of them mobile enough to run along the landing, we obviously taught it was one of them out of the bed using the bathroom.
But on numerous occassions, we would jump out of the bed as soon as we hear the sounds, run out onto the landing, but there would be no-one there. We'd check the kids, they would be out for the count.

Like I said, I have no reason to fabricate this story, these are simple facts. I have started to hear the same sounds, We would be wide awake when hearing them, not been woken up by them before someone asks.

Last week we had a baby over for the nite, during the nite my wife was sitting up giving the baby a nite feed, and she heard the same sounds again, a child running along the landing, she went to check it out, not a sign of any of the kids out of their beds.

Any thoughts from the specialist in here ?
Id be glad to hear them.

There was a new case in derbyshire (England) today,

the person in question got hit on the head with a small table and had a strong smell (before) of seaweed, she has left the house till someone checks it out,

The thing is who will check it out or who could you trust.

    To the OP:
Do you know the history of the house? Or who owned the house before you? Something you could try, if you are wide awake the next time you hear something, is to run out and quickly take a shot of the landing with a digital camera. Keep the camera by your bedside. I read somewhere that sometimes orbs can be captured on camera but not seen with the naked eye.

I don't posts here ever, but I have to say, I'd be going for the ignorance is bliss approach......I'm getting a bit creeped out just reading this.

    Hello & Update

I have put the camcorder away, it didnt show up anything at all, but then again, while I had it rolling, i didnt hear a thing ! (Typical )

The rat poison in the attic hasnt been touched

The house itself it about 9 yrs old, built it ourselves on the in-laws land.
Nothing odd about site, we have asked already.

I have me fone on the locker every nite, use it as my alarm clock, it has a good 5meg camera, with a decent flash. I'll stick to this plan for the time been but who knows !
I think someone said here one time it will prob just go away, hopefully so.

    A

BTW : arent Orbs on fotos just light interferance on the digital camera ?

yes - that and a mixture of light reflection of insects, fly wings, dust etc etc. Some though (i dont know if its because most haunted used to say it all the time) believe 'orbs' are the 'first manifestations of a spirit'. they arent imo.

How often are you hearing the noises these days? have they got rarer or more common?

any word on the bulbs blowing or has it stopped

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,660 ✭✭✭✭maccored

was it very common before this? I reckon its either a complete coincidence and there jsut happened to be some natural occuring sounds going on, or - and this is a pretty long shot - maybe there may have been something paranormal going on and its got a bit wary now it realises you are on to it.

    nothing at all to report

The sound of Kids walking along a carpet'd hallway in the middle of the nite isnt that unusual I agree (and I'd swear on my life thats the sound we were both hearing, not mice or rats tip toeing around), only trouble is I couldnt seem to catch the kids, they were always found fast alseep in their beds every time.

Only last nite did we both hear the EXACT same sound again, only for our 5 yr old to appear at the bedroom door looking for a drink !

at least you knew what you were hearing and its nice to be able to get up and give them a drink ( well I think it is),

it gives more substance to the noise you were hearing when the kids did not appear at the door,

for it to be something strange.

    Thats my point exactly
We are so use to this rustling noise along the carpet that we were convinced its the kids on the landing in the begining, only when we go to check on them after they dont appear, we find them fast alseep, and we'd say to ourselves WFT what that !

    But hopefully its gone away.
NExt time I hear it and there are no sign of kids Im gonna hold a crucifix up in the air and shout "Come On Show yourself"
    LOL

what do you do if it does, ask its name, saying your friendly and you would like to help it to get where it is going.

you may be surprised with a response of some sort.

I think the only answer I will get will be from the wife "Will ya get back to bed"

Or one of the kids "Daddy will ya get me a drink, Im thirsty"

In regards to the lights, are they set in the ceiling or hanging on a wire?

Ah, that would rule out overheating of the bulbs, which happens if they are set into the ceiling like spot lights.
