Watching that video I lost complete control of my mind by the letter C let alone D! And look what he follows up with for E! That's not even taking in to account R!

I did notice one glaring omission though, can you guess what it is? (Keep in mind the game has to be rare).

Guess again. Hint: it's a letter he showed a game for.

    Jog on ImmediateEntrance! :P

For anyone that remotely gives and uncles jockstrap about what it was, yer man used Zanac for Z which is sort of rare-ish but not as rare as Zombie Nation, which I'm surprised he doesn't have considering he has Recca.

And if he does have Zombie Nation then why didn't he use that over Zanac?

This is all too much. I'm going to my caravan now to curl up with a Superplay DVD and a bottle of Amaretto. :(

If you replace the words Boulder Dash in Sparks' posts, with the word Shmup...it could clearly be the same person

I have met them both, they are different people...

And I'm pretty sure Sparks hasn't a mountain lodge...

    A salmon fishing cabin maybe....

ImmediateEntrance has one of those. Look at his profile and the location. :)

Copy of Darius Gaiden PAL in the RAGE. Will it have a 'rare' sticker on it?

Time to shake things up a bit.

    So what is it?

Gaiden is 29.99 by the way, complete, so it's not that bad. They couldn't resist a cheeky 'RARE!' above the price, though.

I've a complete Jap version up on eBay for 20. I think that's closer to the true price or is the PAL version rarer than the Jap NTSC?

    Edit:
    "Had" a complete Jap version.

The PAL version is uncommon, but not 'rare' (or L@@K! RARE!). €30 is a little off the money though.

Ah it actually seems a bit below the average ebay price at the moment. You could certainly get it for cheaper, but it's not ridiculously high by any stretch.

Anyway, just posting for the curious rather than starting a RAGE price debate again :pac:

Feck sake. Got a lend of a JAMMA multi cart to test out. My machine just does not like it though. There's a weird grounding issue going on which happened to my PS1 JAMMA adapter too.

These Chinese companies seem to love using the ground pins on the harness for extra button inputs - it completely disables my controls and makes the screen go wonky.

I ran it through a MVS > JAMMA adapter and got the controls back, but there's still some screen interference there. And it seems to be making my monitor work overtime and emit a much higher pitched sound.

Why am I posting this in the Shmup thread? Well, the multicart has Progear on it and loads of other Shmup loveliness.

I managed to give Progear a quick bash - it looked and played glorious!

Alas, I can't risk my monitor's health by using it though.

I sad. So close but so far :(

Do you not have a Emu/MAME pc hooked up to it to play the games you don't have yet?
Or do you just not do emulation? Hyperspin and real PCB's, its the best of both worlds :)

Well this was going to be me testing emulation on the cab to see if I liked it. Shame it didn't work!

I'd really like some kind of multi game setup like Hyperspin for when people come over. Sick of changing boards out for them!

Well, when you have a PC ready you can grab a copy of my version of hyperspin if you like.
It would still need some tweaking to match whatever setup you have but would be a whole lot quicker than starting from scratch.

Is it an MVS multi-cart that hooks up using an MVS mobo or does it connect directly to the Jamma harness?

Yes please! That would be amazing!!

I was trying to set Hyperspin up on the Ikea cab but it was taking forever. A pre built version would save loads of hassle.

It connects directly to the JAMMA harness. It's basically a JAMMA board with games running from chips.

I used the MVS JAMMA adapter as a pass through to try to fix the grounding issue. Which worked to a degree!

If you copy the Mala directory off the old stinkpad onto your new laptop it should work fine with the limited set of games on it.
