Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Philips HTS650 - no sound on USB files

How's it going. I'm useless with this stuff and to make it worse I'm asking on behalf of an even less tech savvy friend. She has a Philips HTS650 TV and when she sticks in the USB key it shows the files but has no sound. The files are .avi and .mp4 If anyone could shed some light on what might be done or what the issue is…

The audio is in some codec not recognized by the TV media player. Either play the file on a laptop or convert the video using a recognised audio codec like mp3.
