Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Will updating my firmware unroot my phone?

    I rooted my Vodafone Smart II (Alcatel v860) Android 2.3.7 some time ago using Uniflash 1.2 and renaming a recovery.zip file to update.zip and it is now telling me there is a firmware update available.

    Will updating the firmware undo my rooting or have any other negative side effects?

    Download voodoo ota rootkeeper from play store.it should let you temp unroot so you can update and can restore root after
