Fisrt build and all went pretty well! Thanks for the help with putting the pieces together. Just got it together so I'm going to try tidy up the cables tomorrow cause there a bit all over the place.

    dsc0644small.jpg

    dsc0642small.jpg

Hooked it up to the TV first cause I had to rob the power supply cable from the monitor for the PSU. Kind of want to leave it there now!

    Thermaltake V3
    Super-Flower Fanmaster
    Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB
    Powercolor HD5770 1024MB
    Intel Core i5-750
    Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3
    Corsair TX650W
    Arctic Cooling Freezer 7
    4GB-Kit A-Data XPG-G
    Scythe Slip Stream 120 mm
    Logitech G500

Only thing I'd say about it is the scythe is super loud. Without it its really quiet so I reckon I'll take it out as its not really neccessary.

Some (bad) pics of my new case & psu!

    Spec:

    Intel 6600 (2.4GHz @ 3.4GHz)
    Lian Li A05 (Sound-proofed) @ Caseking
    ASUS P5K Deluxe
    4GB Crucial Ballistix
    ATI 4870 1GB
    WD 1TB Caviar Green HDD
    WD 750GB Caviar Black HDD
    Seasonic X-650
Some quiet fans: 120MM Noiseblocker & Sharkoon Silent Eagle 1000

Overall very happy with the noise levels. The fact that the PSU's fan only spins up when needed is great!

Temps are fine too CPU @ 20 and MB @ 30

Pacifico- always interested to see Lian-Li builds. Would also love to see some photos showing airflow through the case!

Was changing around the fans a bit when i got it. I'm used to air intake at the front and the exhaust fans at the back. This didn't work too well with this case though due to the positioning of the PSU i think. So i changed it back to the standard Lian Li way, now the exhaust fan is at the front.

The noiseblocker fan is faster then the sharkoon and i might end up swapping them around so more cold air enters the case and have a slower exhaust fan. Currently the noiseblocker is at the front. There are vents at the side of the front cover to allow the air to escape.

The fan at the front is behind the HDD cage here:

Yeah they are class alright, clean and simple! Really like their smaller ones too. My S775 setup might end up in one of those when i head over to i7 :p

Well time to put my new rig up i finished it about 3 weeks ago, its a good while ago that i was building my last rig but the next one is already in planning :D

So here i was a good while out of building a rig and not up to date with latest hardware. With this in mind there was only one thing to do i head to read a lot and many nights later i finally had a fair idea what i wanted. I set my mind on a spending limit of 1400euro and a AMD CPU (kinda always liked AMD) and Radeon Graphics. With Another point that was important to me which was overclock ability i put this together ....

    Processor : AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 125W 3.4 GHz
Cooler : Cooler Master V8
Board : ASUS Crosshair III 790FX Chipset
    RAM : OCZ BE Ready Dual Channel 2 x 2 GB DDR3-1600 PC3-12800
    OS HDD : Intel X25-M SSD 80GB 2,5"
Storage HDD : Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB
PSU : Corsair HX 850W PSU
Graphics : Crossfire 1 SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5870 Vapor X and
    1 SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5870

This all is running nice and cool in a Antec 900 Case :D

Interesting... two HD5870s and an OCd X4-965BE on a 625W PSU. Even an Enermax-built unit is going to feel the strain on that rig!

Finally got around to posting this.
I've been meaning to for a while but embarrasment about the monstrosity of mess that i made of cable sleeving put it off.

    Anyways here goes -

    Gigabyte EX58-Ud3R
    Core i7 (d0) @ 4GHz
    6GB Crucial Ballistix 1600MHz
    Ati 5850 (for the moment)
    Corsair TX850

    Case.jpg

    Inside2.jpg

    Inside1.jpg

Undoubtedly though, this is the best part of the build,

    Monitors.jpg

3 full 1080p, rotatable monitors with usb hubs, dvi and displayport, and each with 3 year premium pixel guarantee for 420:)

    God, I love Eyefinity!

Then this is the whole package.

    Desk.jpg

    Wow very nice!

What size monitors are they? Also what that fan controller like? Are they WiFi aerials on the top of the case?!

  • Registered Users Posts: 389 ✭✭yomamasflavour

    They're 21.5 inches.
I had hoped to buy 3 1920x1200 res monitors, but the price of one of those was the same as all 3 1080 monitors put together!

The fan controller is a Scythe Kaze-Master.
It works well, thought I've never used the temp monitoring part of it.
Mainly cause they're a pain to place.

And yes, they are aerials on top. Clearly I've too much time on my hands:)
Placed at the back of the case there was no reception, so they had to be moved.
