how come any pornstar you unfortunltly come across has it off?

  • Registered Users Posts: 26,556 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

because most porn is made in america, and it's fairly common practice to have it off over there regardless of religion.

I am since i was a few years old.

My other half was married before she met me and in the early years with me she used to complain about it.

She reckons her exes was better as he was not circumsised. :o

Got it when i was young 'un for health reasons obviously!

Not because I am a jew, not that there is anything wrong with Jews!

Women love it too! Its amazing!

My roommate reckoned he did his himself. Bizzare i know but he showed two of my mates (Drunk + Rag week) who both had it done and they confirmed it.... I still don't fully believe it but the two lads had absolutely no reason to lie.

I wonder why it's so prevalent in the US?

Oh and no, no I'm not.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 65 ✭✭moonbug33

Yes.......for medical reasons.......it was all getting a bit too tight down below........... No regrets at all.

Some fairly dubious reason. It's dropped from about 90% to 10%.

Im quite surprised by the results in this thread/poll. I had no idea circumcisions were this prevalent in Ireland. After a quick google search it says that the prevalence of circumcision in Ireland was just under 20%. I had it in my head that it was around the 2% region

Now Im wondering if the annual rate is increasing/decreasing

Thanks! I'm now circumcised. A little bit sore. More pain from the spinal block i had to get though. The main annoyance is not being able to shower for a couple of days. The encouragement for people having it is great, keep it up lads and ladies! ;)

It's a anaesthetic from the middle of the back down. I have an allergy to some anaesthetics so this was the safest option. My back is a bit sore now.

have you had a hard on yet? I don't normally ask other men that but I think the next one you have might be sore...

I have, it wasn't as bad as i imagined it might be.

I say that with a caveat though, i'm taking medication which affects erections and orgasm. I don't get a full erection at the best of times. It was a phantom sleep erection.

    No to the original question.

Due to the lack of sex ed in Ireland I was a bit in the mist as regards all this thing. I never ever pulled my foreskin down over the head originally. I started having sex very young and every time my foreskin would pull down towards my head it would hurt so I would pull it back up. Then what was happening was when I had the condom on, my foreskin would go down pulling the condom with it which meant a lot of pressure on the tip of my penis. Eek.

Enter a thread in PI where it said your foreskin is supposed to retract fully during sex, silly me didnt realize. :o On the advise of a poster I started stretching it down. Originally it hurt if I touched the inside with anything, or even walked fast so air would hit it (I was about to say if I blew on it but checked myself :p).

That was only about 4-6 months ago, and now I even stretch it back in the shower to rinse it off (its still a bit sensitive to direct water). During sex, or when I get an erection its still hard to retract it fully (depends sometimes can sometimes cant). But before sex I do retract it fully to as far as it will reasonably go. Sex is much much much better this way. You wouldnt believe! :)

I can now wipe the inside too with toilet paper after a whizz, something I could never do. All in all its been an adventure, still trying to loosen it up more. Never used moisturizer, thats an idea.

Im not saying this to sound cool or whatever, but the difference in sex is amazing.

You need to be a bit careful here. There is a condition called paraphimosis (not to be confused with 'normal' phimosis), whereby if the foreskin is tight, and you retract it before you're erect, then it can get trapped as a restrictive ring behind the glans preventing blood flow back out of the head of the penis which can result in gangrene if left too long.

That is if you pull it back, and then get a bonor?

Because I pull it back fully without an erection and comes back up fine.

If I have a boner it generally wont go all the way down without being eased into it for a few minutes first.

    Thank you!

Essentially yes. It's a kind of borderline thing really, if the foreskin's tight but not too tight, then there'll not be enough constriction of the blood vessels to cause a problem, and the 'boner' can subside without problems. If it gets a bit tighter though, and it's tight enough to stop blood flow, you could be in trouble.

Maybe it'd be an idea to see a doctor anyway just to get it checked out. If it's only borderline tight, then they can either suggest stretching exercises (!) and/or the use of topical steroid creams, or I understand there's a small op they can do where they just cut small incisions around the tight area rather than a full circumcision. Don't be shy, the doctors really have seen everything out there, and won't be phased by something as mundane as a tight foreskin. Even of they suggest a full circ, it really, really isn't as big a deal as you might think it is, and I speak from experience there! And if you do get bigger problems in the future, then don't put it off!! That's what I did, for far too many years, and had some slight complications with the circumcision that meant the healing time was far longer than it should have been.

yes. Im from the states (I live in ireland). when I was born the statistics where about 90% had it done. Its become such a part of the culture its almost seen as "unhygienic" to not have it done. I would like to know what it feels like to have it. but I cant change it now. Im fine with what i have.

Yes, from birth. I don't think I'm missing anything though. Actually I didnt know this many guys were circumcised in Ireland (presuming most respondents are Irish)

    Need an option in poll:

It would have helped but too late now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,165 ✭✭✭✭brianthebard

Is it really too late? You asked a doctor? Just curious if you want to share.

In what way can it be "too late". Please enlighten us (speaking as someone who had it done aged 52!).
