I am running a Roberts Internet radio from a Huawei mobile wife device. I also run laptop, smartphone and tablet. All work well except Internet radio which keeps Disconnecting. I have to unplug, plug in again, reconnect and after a few minutes it just disconnects again. wife device is only a metre from radio in same room.
Can any one please advise? Thanks

I wonder if the internet radio is placing a load on the modem that it is simply not up to? Maybe the steady streaming is too much for it? just a thought. Also do you listen to hi quality stations which would increase the download?

Hello Dub45, thank you for your reply, very much appreciated. You raise some interesting points.
    1. Re internet radio placing too much of a load on modem such that it disconnects: I cannot say for sure if this is the issue, perhaps, for several years I have used this internet radio with other broadband systems, ie Wi Fi via landline with different modems, ie Eircom and BT & Vodafone. I have never had such problems before. The problem only began recently when I started to use the Huawei mobile device. Perhaps it is not strong enough to support the internet radio. If this is the case, is there any solution? (I can stream all radio stations without difficulty via TuneIn radio player app through smart phone and tablet).
    2. Re high quality stations which might increase the download: this is also an interesting point. Previously I was listening almost exclusively to BBC Radio 4, and BBC World Service. The radio disconnected from the wi fi completely very time after just 10 or maybe 20 minutes. However, I have since discovered that when I listen to RTE Radio 1, or RTE Radio 1 Extra the internet radio does not disconnect at all.
Any further comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks again !

Sorry I meant to come back to you earlier on this. The fact that you can stream from other devices would seem to rule the Huawei out and especially as you can stream RTE 1 from the Roberts no problem.

I wonder if the issue is with the BBC stations?. There was a big change in the way the BBC transmits its stations on the net earlier in the year which provoked an awful lot of controversy amongst internet radio users in the UK - good article here.

I used to listen to R3 a lot on the 320 link and interruptions would be very, very rare - but that is not available outside the UK any more and I now find I get a lot of interruptions on the substitute link but not to the extent that you are experiencing.
