Just so people know.. Sky F1 is on the SkyGo player so if you know someone (family member/friend) with either the sports package or the HD subscription and they are willing to let you use their sky go (you can only register two devices)..then you can watch it on sky via that method.

James Allen is the reason I used to watch the ITV feed with the sound turned down and Five Live on in the background. Worst commentator ever. Way way worse than Legard. Not only that but his bias toward Hamilton made me hate Hamilton for a long time. I remember watching a race once where Hamilton was in 9th or 10th place and a guy in the top 3 spun out. Allen's first reaction? "Oh and look! This is tremendous news for Lewis Hamilton!"

And on another note, the 2 races in Spain are to alternate from 2013.

Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone says he is close to finalising a contract for the Valencia and Barcelona races to alternate on the calendar from next year - meaning Spain will have just one race from 2013.

After months of speculation about the future of the Valencia Grand Prix, Ecclestone revealed that that event and Spanish GP organisers have agreed to share the race from next year.

Not bad news about Spain for TV viewers, just one boring race a year there now. Bad news for people heading over though, only one chance a year at an F1 holiday that significant others could be convinced to go along with :pac:

Meant to be alternating between Barcelona and Valencia. Two boring as **** races.

Sure they didnt even think Valencia would go ahead this year, due to costs. I've my tickets for Valencia, so I've been waiting on the news of what's happening.

It was a joke having two GPs in Spain. Won't be sustainable except in seasons when Alonso won the title the year before.

Yeah, not sad to see the back of one of those two. Both snoozefests traditionally. They should try to get Imola or Estoril back on the calendar, or Buenos Aires, good classic drivers tracks instead of boring Tilke tracks in countries I've never heard of.

Estoril, last held an F1 race in 1996. I liked that circuit because of it's elevation changes and it's long start/finish straight. Wasn't fond of the corkscrew that was added in 1994 though.

Just had a look at that track, looks fun/interesting.

With that news from Valencia and the constant poor crowds at some of the newer Asian races hopefully there'll be space soon for a return to Imola. Can't think of a whole lot of older tracks I'd like to see F1 go back to. Portimao is an obvious choice of newer tracks though.

EDIT: Estoril was a fairly boring track, I'd prefer a return to Argentina. Not a great track but a bit different.

I was there (nearby on holidays)! How did I not know about that track!!!

There was talk of a race returning to Argentina a few years back, never came to fruition. A return to Mexico at a new circuit was also mentioned.

The circuit at Mexico City was something else. Very bumpy, high altitude circuit, and the infamous 'Peraltada' which was butchered so it could accomodate a baseball stadium.

Gerhard Berger won his first GP there whilst suffering food poisoning.

Estoril could well suffer from the same problems as the Catalunya circuit, a little boring which would causes track tinkering as was the case with the mid 90's corkscrew. It is conceivable that if (big if) it is ever reconsidered for the calender I'm sure chicanes would be added to the last corner and such like ruining a decent track.

It would be great to have an Argentine GP or a South African GP or even an Austrian GP back, but just being a nice venue isn't the best way to balance the books such that a Bahrain or a second Spanish GP will always be preferable to F1 management. In defense of the Spanish GP's, there's nothing fundamentally wrong with two of them (see relative success of Ferrari's two Italian GP's or Schumacher's two German/European/Luxembourgish GP's), it's just Valencia was a poor choice. The example above added existing tracks with a history and character and had proven to be at least viable. If it was necessary to have two Spanish races, repeat the '94/'97 or Catalunya/Jerez, would at least be an improvement.

The chicane was added in 94 as a safety move after Senna's death. No chance of F1 ever going back to Estoril but Portimao is a logical choice if they do decide to go back to Portugal.

In relation to an Argentine GP a new circuit in BA is being built and will host MotoGP from next year. The organisers are interested in returning to F1 and for Bernie it would be very useful to have four races in the Aermicas timezone-Montreal, Austin, Interlagos and BA to try and generate more interest in the US

Imola is a great track and has been brought up to spec and would make a great location for the San Marino or European GP ( I know it has sad memories but lots of tracks do)

If they could do something with the Mexican circuit I would love a return there.

The last Buenos Aires circuit used in the 90's wasn't a great circuit, it was very dull and twisty, the circuit up to 1981 was epic though but it's a pity it's gone. I'd rather see F1 return to Imola or see the French GP return, preferably at Paul Ricard.

I was never a fan of Estoril but the circuit is even slower and tighter than it was when F1 last visited. They've made the first two corners tighter, which used to be the best part of the circuit.
