dvd burning with vista

is there known problems with burning dvd's using vista.????? I use burnforfree on my xp desktop with no probs but i bought a laptop with vista and it comes up with an unknown disk error when i try to burn a dvd. I have tried formatting the disk but no joy... any help would be most welcome Thanks
