Changing Accountancy Firms!!

    Hi guys,

Just a quick question, I have started a training contract with a small accountancy firm about 9months ago. CAP1s passed, now enrolled for CAP2s for the coming year.

If I wanted to change accountancy firms, does anyone know if this would effect my enrollment, would there be any issues with sitting CAP2 exams next June if I changed firms in December?? Would I have to start my 3.5 years over again?

The reason I ask is because I am leaving in the city and travelling an hour out everyday, being paid minimal wages and spending about 60EURO a week on diesel when I could apply for jobs in the city and not have the diesel expenses along with the travel.

Any advise would be much appreciated:)

Why don't you live closer to work?
Rent will almost certainly be cheaper than the city.

No, you shouldn't. It was a few years ago, but I changed firms 2 years into my training contract. All you need is the written approval of both firms to change, but you don't have to do the full 3.5 years again.
