theres a nice chrome app/extension called 'forget me'
it removes everything left on your computer by a website....hidden stuff like local storage objects.
I'm saying that using some protection may prevent some nasties

and you're in denial after the fact ,

it's nice but all browsers have private browsing, very handy when someone else wants to check their webmail on your computer and visa versa, and there are a lot of driveby download sites out there, there are frequent enough zero day exploits for windows/IE etc that allow a site to take full control of your machine once the script starts running or they convince you to click on something

yes security is about multiple layers, but 'forget me' isn't going to protect you from much many of the things you should have other defenses against regardless.

I did a google image search for my Nephew, for a Primary School project ages ago and watched the "Windows Anti-Virus" (Or similar) install in front of me in a few seconds. Literally 3 seconds-ish.

I was impressed with it's speed.

But there was no Porn. It was a History project or something about mostly unheard of Irish inventors, or inventions.. I can't remember the exact name i typed in to search for, But it was on Windows 7.

I kept the executable, but it was on a USB key that went into another PC shortly after, and wiped it.
