Shelmaliers vs St Annes in the Wexford SHC final. Both clubs are still in the SFC race too with quarter finals to look forward to.

I know there's a lot of football to be played yet, but the last time St.Anne's won the double (2000), Kerry and Kilkenny were All Ireland champions and Real Madrid won the Champions League.

Quarter finals next week will be interesting. Both Shels and Anne's will be favourites in their respective quarters but both may sub-consciously have an eye on the hurling final the following week. Both in local derbies too were anything can happen.

Gusserane and Horeswood is the pick of the quarter final pairings for me. Horeswood have PJ back and will be that bit stronger for it, but I have been mightily impressed with Gusserane this year (they have drawn with both Anne's and Martin's) and just think they are in better form heading into it.

Martins and Castletown resume what's become a recent rivalry and it kickstarts the weekend being under the lights on Friday. Not going to speculate on it at all though given my username indicates my loyalties :D

Thurles Sarsfields v Drom / Inch in last 16 in Tipperary. Massive game for the 2 favourites for the county title.

Next Sunday in Semple Stadium @ 4pm, be a game worth going to for anyone around.

It won't be - Tipp board prioritizing the hurling as its closer to being finished, should be down to last 16 this weekend, bar draws, if that happens they are in trouble. Don't think they took the dual players into consideration, which has caused hassle. The quote I got was that it would be a massive miracle if the football championship was down to the last 12 by November

What about the county league in Tipp? Could the leaders of Division One represent Tipp in the Munster Club

As far I as know, there is no nominating clubs like that - has to be championship winners

Offalys county final on sunday Kicormac-Killoughey again ST.Rynaghs

St.Anne's and Shelmaliers are a novel pairing in Wexford's senior hurling final this Sunday. Play each other in the senior football semi finals the following Sunday. Will be black sick of the sight of each other!

Incidentally, the last final between two teams from the Wexford district was played in 1904 (played in January 1905) when Castlebridge (Shelmaliers are the current guise) beat Crossabeg Ballymurn!! Insane stat when you think about the number of clubs in the district now, and it's population density in general

Limerick county final this sunday... the big 2 of Limerick hurling in recent years; Na Piarsaigh vs Kilmallock. NaP strong favourites.

    I reckon they'll win the All-Ireland tbh.

Senior Club Championship Final on here tomorrow

    Dr Crokes V Legion

The winners will be hoping that Mid Kerry will beat the Stacks in the County Final so they can then be Kerry's representives in Munster, cant see the Crokes been beaten again by Legion, they met earleir in the County Championship and Legion came out on top, might see the Gooch play some part.

Intermediate Club Final on as well

    Spa V Ardfert

Two teams that have made the All Ireland Finals in the past,Spa been runners up in 2010 and Ardfert putting back to back All Irelands winning both Junior and Intermediate All Irelands in 06 and 07,Spa are in Division 2 of the County League while Ardfert have slipped down to Division 3 but are still a dangerous team when it comes to Championship.

Spa have a young and lively team that will test Ardfert who like to slow the game the down and try and use their physical strength so it has the makings of a clash between two contrasting styles of play,Its a hard one to call as there wont be much between the sides,I just think Spa will just about get the win but I would rule out this been a draw as well.

Also seen this, bit of a laugh but all fairly spot on :)

you think he'd be better off waiting until the new year to make a comeback. although if crokes are in the munster championship it'll be hard for him not to come back.

Id imagine that there would be a few folks none to happy if Crokes ended up in Munster again after the poor year they have had.
Failed to win the AI after them being strong favorites from the minute they won Kerry, and then losing both championship games to other club teams.

    But them is the rules.

What matches are on TG4 tomorrow?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,569 ✭✭✭✭ProudDUB

Dublin SFC semis were on today.

Plunkett's beat Jude's 1-11 to 0-4. Rather defensive affair. Kev Mc was very well marshaled. Once he was kept quiet, that was pretty much it for Judes.

Vincents beat Boden 1-17 to 1-10

So that's a Berno vs Dermo final. Tasty ! :D

Saw the 1st match. Bernard was kept quiet. How did Connolly play?

Berno had three men dragging out of him for most of the day and he still got 1-3. Would have been more but for the keeper and Nesty Smith taking the frees and 45's.

Dermo was Dermo. Got summit like 1-5/1-6.

Today Crossmaglen Rangers beat Armagh Harps by 4-14 to 0-09 to win the Armagh championship. This is their eighteenth victory in 19 years, goalkeeper Paul Hearty has all 18 medals, a feat which few can match.

Navan O'Mahony's won their 19th Meath SFC title this afternoon after beating Donaghmore/Ashbourne 2-11 to 2-9. Donaghmore/Ashbourne actually scored both their goals in the first 3 or 4 minutes to go 6 points ahead but NOM gradually clawed their way back and once they got their first goal early in the second half, they were never headed.

Am devastated 2b honest. Really thought we were gonna do it. But I think in matches like 2day the experienced big club like NOM are always going to be very tuff to beat. Maybe nxt yr! Proud of the Donaghmore/Ashbourne lads.

In Wexford Shels and St Anne's drew in SHC final, poor enough affair with the last 15 mins the only time when the two teams started to hurl. It was windy though. Replay next Sunday, funny thing is the two were meant to play each other in the SFC semi that day, so that has been pushed out, if not then wexford wouldn't have a representative in the Leinster hurling champ, and we have already admitted we won't have football finished in time to send in one.

Sounds like a bit of a disaster, how did they manage that?

Kilmallock caused a minor upset in the Limerick SHC final, beating Na Piarsaigh. 3 red cards in total.

Sounds like a bit of a disaster, how did they manage that?

As someone heavily involved in the club scene it's been a farce from day one. While I understand that club action is halted when county are still in the championship, football really took a back seat when Wexford were eliminated, and it appeared from then on they put all their eggs in the hurling basket to ensure they'd have a representative in the Leinster championship (I'm convinced they worked off the assumption that Oulart would win it out again).

There was the farcical situation where they had the final round of group games of football, where only final standings were up for grabs, played on a Friday of a weekend they could have feasibly played the quarter finals (some simple organisation could have scheduled them games mid-week the week before). It seemed that they delayed and delayed the football so that some of the bigger names could return from the States in time to assist their clubs in the knockout stages.

With the drawn hurling final this weekend, Castletown and Gusserane's semi final was rescheduled for this coming Saturday. But Gusserane have since rejected on the grounds that they have a couple of players flying home that day and it has been moved to bank holiday Monday. We might get the final played by Christmas.

Portlaoise won their 8th SFC in a row yesterday. Handy enough win 2-14 vs 0-9 Killen. On to Leinster they have the champions of Dublin at home in Portlaoise

Can't see that D/A team going too long without winning the SFC. Some very good experienced players along with younger lads like Deegan, Devine and Melia (among many others) always improving. Yesterday's game will stand to them in the long run.

The Awesome Kilcormac Killoughey pick up there 3 county title Sunday.
They were awesome from start to finish. Scoring 12 points from long range to add to two good goals.
Only One Kilcormac Killoughey players started in the same position as they would have played this year or last for the county team.

Its just shows you what a good manager and coaches can do with good players and a game plan that isn't horse ****.
