    Nice one.

Portishead/Chic is the only clash I'm really bothered about there. Probably opt for Chic as I've seen Portishead a few times before. They were amazing the last time, though.

Bit of a manky line-up with most of the decent stuff clashing. At least The RipTide movement are on nice and early to shake the cobwebs and have some breakfast beers to.
    Cant wait

I think I worked out that on average I only ever see 8 bands so that lineup is plenty dense for me. Looking forward to pottering around on the Wednesday with the smaller crew down by the bandstand and checking out the cider and food at the same time.

Sounds about right. Trying to see much more than a couple of acts a day and you'll miss what is going on around you. Wander around, have a cider, listen to someone you've never heard of before on some stage you never knew existed, get up and fetch another cider and get distracted by someone in a crazy outfit walking towards another field, see who is playing in that field...rinse...repeat.

Im still torn up about Portishead and Arctic Monkeys - Im a huge Portiishead fan, "SHE" is not! Add to that shes a massive Arctic Monkeys fan. I would have imagined Portishead to be a little too moody/visceral for such a huge set up as the Other Stage? To be honest thats why Im happy enough to catch the Monkeys and have a bit of a hop around to on the first night - rather than the standing around nodding your head set up that would be Portishead.
Perhaps they would be better as a stand alone gig or in a tent?
Please tell me what I want to hear!

Option C-Crystal Castles. That way there won't be any argument over who gets to see what and you'll get a bit of bopping around in too ;)

I personally wouldn't be choosing Arctic Monkeys over Portishead, no matter how many times I've seen them, and definitely not for a GF (even if she's Salma Hayek)

Its gona be a tough start to play that early but at least it frees up the rest of the day to see all the other acts. Always a pain when gig on evening time as you waste about 1-2 hours each side getting set up and packing stuff away

Using clashfinder I have a plan made out for Friday-unfortunately I have to fly back on Saturday morning to play Westport.

    12-12.30 Riptide Movement
    13.00-13.30 Kodaline
    13.45-14.45 Jake Bugg

    Piss Break 1

    15.00-15.40 Enter Shakari
    15.40-16.40 Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
16.40-17.40 Lumineers/Prof Green (not too pushed on either so free wander time perhaps)

    ----Food Break----

    18.15-19.15 The Vaccines

    ----Piss Break 2

    19.30-20.30 Alt-J (a must see for me)

    ----Piss Break 3----

    21.00-21.30 Glen Hansard
    21.30-22.15 Seasick Steve
    22.30-23.45 Crystal Castles
23.35-00.35 Rudimental (or any other similar dancy type act that will keep me going!)

    Nothing can go wrong ;)

Anyone on the Aer Lingus/Aer Arann flight to Bristol on the 27th landing at 12.35? If so, anyone got room for one in a taxi?

I think I'm the only one of my group on that flight.

Walking up the "Hill of Death" every day in order to get back to the campervan will be more than enough exercise for me.

The efestivals discussion on that is fun with people getting very angry it is the Rolling Stones taking over the festival. What with it being a Phoenix (and not related to the band Phoenix who are playing the other stage) I think this is going to be a theme for the festival.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is going to be some idea of "rebirth for the UK" they'll be pushing in reaction to the rise of the right. It would fit the sort of message Glastonbury would be behind and having them make a statement on it could be repositioning the festival closer to its roots of hippies and socialists that many feel it has drifted from. If we think the last thing they had the pyramid altered for was nuclear disarmament it makes some sense... or it could just breath fire during Jumping Jack Flash. It'll be interesting either way.

Mickolution, I'm on that flight on the Thursday and also by myself! Would definitely be on for sharing a taxi? We might pick up a few more at the airport if there are no more takers on here....!

I'm on the Ryanair flight to Bristol on Thursday, arrives at 07:40.

Anybody else on that one who's interested in a taxi share?

I know of one other who has said she'd share. The more the merrier (and cheaper).
