    Hi Guys,
In the last few weeks, the built in webcam on my laptop has stopped working and also the screen of the laptop goes black when I adjust the lid/screen of the laptop. Sometimes I can get it back by adjusting the lid again.. Othertimes I have to restart the computer..
Would anyone have any idea what is causing the problem?
I suspect its something to do with a power/data cable of some sort between the base of the laptop and the screen being damaged/loose..
I am going to bring it to a repair shop but like to have an idea of the possible cause before going there..
    ThoughtS?

    Thanks

You're right, its the cable in the hinge. About a €10 part usually but its a bit of labour to fit it as it can mean a full take down to connect it back onto the board and screen.

I'd hazard a guess most places would charge €60-80 all in.

Just had this problem myself. I replaced the cable but that didn't help, I ended up replacing the screen which solved the problem. The screen is actually easier to replace than the cable.
