Do you have any passions?

    Well?

And I don't mean a hobby or something you're just interested in, but something in your life you actually love doing (your ma doesn't count, either does my ma or anyone else's ma for that matter! Or masterbation).

I ask because I haven't found mine yet and am wondered how people discovered theirs?

And I'm a little bit bored too.

I'm the type of person who becomes passionate about something and two or three weeks later I'm obsessed over something else.

I'm interested in computers and frequently become passionate, but it's difficult to maintain that passion for a long period of time (particularly because I work in IT and sometimes associate programming with stress as a result).

I'm also somewhat passionate about various cons and scams. The petty "low-life" stuff that requires some amount of skill really interests me (cat burglary*, card cheating, pickpocketing etc.).

    * When I say cat burglary I mean burglary without breaking windows/locks/etc., like lockpicking, key cloning and so on.

    I'm passionate about Golf.

Playing of it, watching it and reading about it.

Driving to the course to play or the range to hit balls fills me pure and utter glee.

    This about sums it up...

    "Golf is happiness for
    Happiness is achievement.
The father of achievement is motivation
    The mother is encouragement.
The fine golf swing is truly achievement
Man may lie, cheat, and steal for gain.
But, these will never gain the golf swing
To gain the golf swing man must work.
Yet it is work without toil
It is exercise without the boredom.
It is intoxication without the hangover
It is stimulation without the pills.
It is failure yet its successes shine even more brightly
It is frustration yet it nourishes patience.
It irritates yet its soothing is far greater
It is futility yet it nurtures hope.
It is defeating yet it generates courage
It is humbling yet it ennobles the human spirit.
It is dignity yet it rejects arrogance
Its price is high yet its rewards are richer
Some say it's a boy's pastime yet it builds men
It is a buffer for the stresses of today's living.
It cleanses the mind and rejuvenates the body
It is these things and many more.
For those of us who know it and love it
    Golf is truly happiness."

    Eating
    Drinking
    Weightlifting
    Rifle Shooting

I think it boils down to personality type OP, your either the obsessive compulsive type or your not. 'Passions' are just what we call 'obsessions' that arn't obviously having a negative effect on your life.

For what its worth mine is Thai Boxing.

I LOVE my food, but I starve myself down to make weight for my sport.
    When I have a fight I train twice a day, 6 days a week.
I go running every morning just to improve my fitness for my sport.
I lie awake at night going over fights in my head.
I have spent hours researching proper diet and supplements to improve my performance.
I ignore injuries and put myself at risk because I can't stay away from the gym.

Shooting and fishing are the only things i can say i love doing rather than have an interest in.

I'd have to say I've been playing golf for years but am starting to get quite passionate about it now...

Other than that, although I've got very little experience in it, I suppose I'm a bit passionate about flying. Been trying desperately to find a way into a carrier that will satisfy and pay for this buy it's not easy or cheap. For now though, the rare hour long lesson and watching out the window on take-off and landing while on RuinAir will have to suffice.

I was just thinking today that if someone asked me about what I do in my spare time... I honestly wouldn't know what to say. I'm a news junkie, but that usually isn't the best thing to say on a night out I suppose?

I see these people who are so into snowboarding, photography (which I do enjoy and can appreciate) or whatever, but I just don't have the same enthusiasm as they do. I feel like I'm missing out big time or something?
