They really are a useless shower at the CB though aren't they, they only produce a proof set for years that have a commemorative 2 Euro coin (except the first in 2006) and they only produce a commemorative 2 Euro when forced to for the Eurowide joint issues.

I think we are the only original member country not to have released a commemorative €2 coin.
From this month on I believe each country is now allowed to release two commemoratives each year (plus a common). I wonder if we will ever get around to releasing one. |

The cheapest way to get one, is over the counter at the Central Bank. This is fine if you work in Dublin city centre. Otherwise you can order them from the coin collector unit using the link below or just ring them on 1890307607. Unfortunately you will have to pay registered post charges as thats the only way they dliver them.

Backfire,
I don't imagine they will sell out on the 2012 proof sets any time soon, the 2009 and 2007 ones are still available to buy on their site. If you wanted to get one now you could ring and try to get it added to your Michael Collins order. It would only be an extra 2.50 for postage. |

I got the double set on pre order and was not going to get the individual ones until next month when I got paid. But when the double set sold out so quick I thought I better get the individual ones now in case they are gone by next month. |
