I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread on any wedding related bargains. Post anything from the small things like bathroom baskets and pew ends to sample sales and bridal trunk shows. I'll get the ball rolling with:

24inch tall framed chalkboards on sale in heatons (might be handy for directional signs or photobooths) reduced from €20 to €5. Can't find them online but they are in store.

Medium Yankee wedding day candles 3 for 2 in boots, so they work out at €13 each. If seen them for €23 in some places.

Great idea for a thread!

There are small baskets in Homestore and More that are reduced at the moment, might be useful for bathroom bits and pieces: http://www.homestoreandmore.ie/storage-units/basket-medium/invt/042385

Great idea for a thread. I've just ordered 5 of those bottles from heat one. Il use them for the bouquets to keep them fresh.

I used aliexpress.com to source lots of items for the wedding. It's the same company as alibaba but you can buy in smaller quantities.

Dunnes stores have a lovely range of flower girl dresses at the minute. Really excellent quality for €50-60. The also have a good range of matching tights shoes etc. you will find cheaper girls dresses online but it's a good price for in a store and able to try them on.

If anyone is buying jam jars - for vases, homemade lanterns, actual jars of jam, as glasses for lemonade/ beer, etc. you can buy in bulk from www.alpack.ie. Waayy cheaper than buying them in Ikea or Homestore and More and they have a huge selection, and it's open to everyone.

Littlewoods have fab value junior bridesmaid and flower girl dresses - mine were €16 each!

Great Thread! love the 1e jars in heatons!
Yankee Candle store in Cork have the wedding candles for half price until they shut down on 15th Feb

Pennies have cool miniture chalk boards with a twine handle and Jadore written on the top for 2euro
they also have smal LOVE signs that light up 5e

Dunnes have brown and white whicker hearts with miniture whicker hearts in them for 2.50 and largeer ones for 4e

Heatons have wedding signs for €3 at the moment. Seen them in person. They are maybe 12" long.

Just thought I am half kicking myself I didn't get some, but Tiger Stores have tubs or heart shaped biscuits on sale now for Valentines €3 for the tub. Would be nice to have around or to have with tea and coffee

Has anyone seen where the best plae for buying candles in bulk might be? Not tea lights but the bigger pillar candles?

When do you need them for? Homestore and more usually do half price candles in July/August.
Ikea do them but you have to actually go out there to see the whole range.

Penneys also do some. One is a medium size about 20cm heights for €3 and a smaller size for €2

Tiger stores have a candle wall at the back they have loads of different colours of pillar candles.

Cool thanks guys! Wedding is in July in France, brother is bringing over a truck so want to get them by the end of June to take the stress off. I wonder how many you would need to line an aisle?

Depends on the length of the aisle I guess. 1 each side, every 2nd row maybe? Hopefully its not a narrow aisle... fire... dress... :eek:

Does anyone know a Dublin shop that stocks Price's candles? They do a fresh air range that I am interested in. I saw them a few years ago but now it seems Yankee candles are everywhere.

This thread is great! I picked up lovely tea light holders similar to the picture posted previously but in cream color, for 1.50 in Dealz. I'm going to use them to decorate the aisle, can't go wrong for that price!
Also I had been looking for a flower girl basket for ages and finally found one today in Tiger for 3 euros! It does require a bit of DIY as it is plain woven but still a bargain!
