    Legal age is 17, but I suppose it would be awkward not being able to bring her for a drink.

    Morally the only concern is that like anyone if she's not looking for a sexual fling then don't even think about she's young and naive and still believes in romance!

    Nothing at all wrong with fancying her - biologically she's a grown woman. If she's interested, no harm dating her (do not just ride her and discard her - that's prick behaviour with a 17-year-old) but expect disapproval and the age gap causing rifts. You're both at very different life stages.

    Anyway, there's nothing wrong with an older man going with a 17 year old girl in Ireland (or even a 16 year old girl in the UK where the age of consent is 16).

    Society actually tends to look down on relationships where it's a much older woman going with a teen boy.
